The following is a quick overview of the 2024 Capita snowboards lineup.
First I will take a look at any new boards for the 2023-24 season, and any 2022-23 boards that aren't returning with a 2024 model.
Then I'll place each board into the categories where I see them fitting best and finally take a look at any changes for returning boards.
New 2024 Capita Snowboards
The new boards for 2023-24 are:
+ Aeronaut - Arthur Longo's new pro model, the Aeronaut, is tapered directional, 6/10 flex, mostly camber (very close to trad camber) freeride board. Capita call it a resort board and a sidehit wonder.
+ Spring Break Resort Twin - New true twin, centered, 5/10 flex, park/resort board. It's a little wider than normal but not as wide as the Powder Twin. Similar to the Powder Twin in a lot of ways, but different in that it has the Death Grip sidecut vs the radial sidecut on the powder twin and Capita's resort V2 Twin camber profile (more camber) vs the "surf camber twin" profile on the Powder Twin.
+ Ultrafear Reverse Camber - Flat-to-Rocker version of the Ultrafear camber (the Ultrafear used to be flat-to-rocker so it's kind of bringing that back). Looks to be identical to the hybrid camber version, apart from the camber profile.
+ Mega Death - New setback directional, very subtly cambered (1-2mm depending on size), flex 6.5 freeride/all-mountain board. aka a "Mega" version of the Black Snowboard of Death (BSOD).
Compared to BSOD: Has the "FSC® Certified Thermopolymer Starship Core™" vs the "Thermopolymer Hover Core™ on the BSOD. Also has a Megadrive Base (Hyperdrive adv on BSOD), and "Pure Mega Carbon" glass (vs tri/tri fibreglass on BSOD). Size-wise, doesn't have the 165W or 169W but has every other size that the BSOD has.
+ Spring Break Powder Glider - New heavily tapered (30mm) directional, setback, 5/10 flex, directional flat-to-rocker, addition to spring break series.
+ Navigator Split - Split version of Navigator, naturally.

Summary
So there you have the 2024 Capita snowboards.
Out with the Old
3 models are exiting - the Neo Slasher, SB Ultralight Powder Displacement Snowcraft and the Scott Steven's Pro.
They all essentially get replacements, with the Navigator Split coming in to keep the split line at 3. The Spring Break series also gets a replacement with the Powder Glider and the Ultrafear Reverse Camber is the replacement for the Scott Steven's Pro.
And In with the New
In addition to the 3 boards mentioned above that are, in essence, replacements for the 3 outgoing boards, Capita are also bringing in 3 other new boards.
Firstly the Resort Twin, to compliment the powder twin.
Then the BSOD gets a mega version in the Mega Death.
And finally, Arthur Longo's board - the Aeronaut.
Changes to Existing Models
Ultrafear: "P2 Superlight core" replaces the "Dual Blaster V2 core" from the '23 model - otherwise appears the same.
Pathfinder Rev: NEW Size 159W. Otherwise appears the same.
Space Metal Fantasy: NEW Sizes 145W, 149W, 153W. Otherwise appears the same.
Paradise: Showing flex as 5/10 now (was 4.5/10 for '23 model). Otherwise appears the same.
DOA: NEW Size 151W. Appears the same otherwise.
Super DOA: "Hyperdrive ADV" on the '24 model, replacing the "Hyperdrive" on the '23 model. Seems to be only change.
Indoor Survival: Was a "directional twin with 0.5 setback" for '23 model. Now a centered true twin for '24 model. Also gets a new "Meta Core" replacing the P2 Superlight Core that was on the '23 model. Sizings look identical, so previously I think only thing that made it directional twin was the setback. So, I think they've just moved the insert pack (and changed the core).
Birds of a Feather: NEW Size 154W. Flex rating now 5.5/10 (was 5/10 on '23 model, but this is probably just a rating change). Otherwise the same.
Pathfinder: NEW Size 159W. Otherwise appears the same.
Mega Merc: "Mega Drive base" on the '24 model, replacing the "Hyperdrive" on the '23 model. Otherwise appears the same.
Black Snowboard of Death: "Hyperdrive ADV" on the '24 model, replacing the "Hyperdrive" on the '23 model. New "moonshot omni tune" replacing the "moonshot pro-tune" that was on '23 model. Otherwise appears the same.
Navigator: DROPS Size 143. New "Resort V2 Directional" camber profile replaces the "Alpine V1 Profile" on the '23 model - new profile has reverse camber on the tail, where it weas flat on '23 tail. "Hover Core" replaces the "P2 Superlight core" on the '23 model. New "2 x 30mm Technora Flax Boosters" replace the "Carbon Fiber Beams" that were on the '23 model. "Tri/Bi fibre Glass" replaces the "Bi/Bi glass" that was on the '23 model.
Kazu Kokubo Pro: New camber profile (Resort V3) which has rocker on both tip and tail versus the '23 model which only had rocker on nose. "Hyperdrive ADV" on the '24 model, replacing the "Hyperdrive" on the '23 model. New "moonshot omni tune" replacing the "moonshot pro-tune" that was on '23 model.
Equalizer: New "Resort V2 Directional" camber profile replaces the "Alpine V1 Profile" on the '23 model - new profile has reverse camber on the tail, where it weas flat on '23 tail. "Meta Core" replaces the "P2 Superlight Core" on the '23 model.
Powder Twin: New "Meta Core" replacing the "P2 Superlight Core" it had for '23 model. Otherwise appears the same.
So, they've been busy!

Hey Nate, did you get a chance to try out the aeronaut? If so what did you think?
Nate says
Hi Dec
Didn’t get on the Aeronaut unfortunately. I had a 161 I borrowed from rep, which I took measurements of but didn’t ride because it’s a little bigger than what I typically test, so wouldn’t have been a super accurate test. And also because they also had a 157 (that wasn’t available at the time), which I was hoping was going to become available but never did, unfortunately. Really wanted to get on and now wish I’d ridden the 161 to at least get some feel for it.
Nelson says
Hi Nate,
Thanks for all the content. Hope all is well
I’m writing again to ask if you’ve tested the spring break powder racer and/or the Yes 420?
I have been of and on hunting for a pow board to complement my mega merc for a while and I was pretty set on the powder racer 157 for it’s wide platform, tight side cut, cambered and directional tapered attributes. Mainly for riding trees/pow in Japan.
I’ve also stumbled across the Yes 420 which I totally overlooked. Also being a wide, (but somewhat shorter at 152 as the largest size and having similar features to the powder racer I am also considering it as an option. It’s also $200 cheaper.
So, yeah just wondering if you may have experience with either that you could give me further info or advice as to why I might pick one over the other other than cost.
Any help is greatly appreciated
Nate says
Hey Nelson
Good to hear from you again. We haven’t tested either of those, so can’t really give any insight on this occasion, unfortunately.
Nelson says
Ah ok.
No worries
I appreciate all the work you do for us fellow snowboard gear enthusiasts.
Hopefully chat another time
All the best

Looking forward to the Spring Break Resort Twin! When do you think you’ll have it? Since I’m looking at it for the coming season. Thanks for everything you do mate.
Nate says
Hi Gijs
Thanks for your message. The Resort Twin’s review is scheduled to be published for October 5th. But it’s also one that I’m going to be an early release (something new we’re doing this year) for our Patron’s. It’s on the list to setup as this weeks early release (have been meaning to do early releases every week, but haven’t been able to keep that schedule!) but should have the Resort Twin early release out this week. So you’re welcome to check out our Patreon here or wait till October 5th, when it will be published here.
If you’d like, I can let you know when I have it up on Patreon.
Colton says
Do you find that capita boards with the death grip side cut are a couple mm narrower overall than actual advertised waist width?
Nate says
Hey Colton
I don’t tend to measure waist widths, as it’s something that’s published for every board. I only measure width at inserts, so couldn’t say for sure. If you have a Capita board with death grip and you’ve measured the waist to be smaller than the published measurement, keep the following in mind:
– The waist width is measured on the underside (base) of the board, from outside of metal edge to outside of metal edge – and not on the topsheet
– The waist is typically measured at the very center of the sidecut (so for a twin, the very center of the board), rather than the narrowest point of the board. They middle of the sidecut typically is the narrowest point, but in some cases (see below) it’s not always the case.
I have measured some GNU/Lib Tech boards at the waist (and a handful of other boards) and the main reason I did that was because there’s less difference between waist width and width at inserts on GNU/Lib Tech boards. What I found with them was that the waist of the board had a magnetraction bump, which made the waist wider than what it would be without the magnetraction bump – so the narrowest parts of the board were actually just to the sides of the waist.
Taking one example of a Capita board with Death Grip, the Spring Break Resort Twin (156) I tested/measured in the winter was 268mm at the inserts. It’s published waist width is 258mm. Assuming that’s accurate, then the difference is 10mm between waist and inserts is 10mm, which is pretty typical of Capita boards, from what I’ve measured.
Hope this helps
Colton says
Yes that helps a bunch thanks!
