2027 Bent Metal Snowboard Bindings Lineup Overview

Bent Metal has expanded its snowboard binding lineup pretty substantially for 2027.

The collection grows from 13 models to 18. Seven new names enter the range, while only two 2026 models disappear.

However, three of those additions - the Speed-In Flex, Speed-In Light and Speed-In Pro - aren’t completely new binding designs. They were previously sold under GNU and have now moved across to Bent Metal.

The four genuinely new Bent Metal models are the T-Zero, Transfer Pro, Astra and Clip.

The T-Zero replace the outgoing Logic as Bent Metal’s soft, freestyle-focused bindings. The Transfer Pro creates a new level between the regular Transfer and extremely stiff Solution, while the women’s Astra fills some of the space left by the retiring Forte.

The Clip is a new youth/unisex model with a soft flex, broad size range and relatively simple construction.

Bent Metal hasn’t made a lot of changes to returning models. The most notable are the Solution getting a new baseplate/footbed and the Lightning Supermatic gains an AirTag-compatible binding disc. More on those changes in a bit.

New Bent Metal Snowboard Bindings and Retiring Models 

The T-Zero is the clearest direct replacement.

Like the outgoing Logic, it has an overall 4/10 flex, two-piece chassis, Mini Pivot Disc, soft asymmetrical Dual Band ankle strap and 4/10 Boron Fiber Drive Plate.

However, it replaces the Logic’s Love Handle urethane highback with a solid 4/10 TPU highback. It also gets Bent Metal’s new Fast Action toe strap (will discuss this more in a bit) and a new Cube that allows a zero-degree forward-lean setting.

The Astra’s relationship with the Forte is a little different.

Both are women-specific all-mountain bindings, but the Astra is considerably softer and uses a different chassis. The Forte had an 8/10 overall flex, two-piece chassis, Mini Pivot Disc, 7/10 highback and 8/10 drive plate.

The Astra gets a 6/10 flex, Uni-Body chassis, Large Axis Disc, 6/10 nylon highback and 6/10 magnesium-fiber drive plate.

As a result, the Astra doesn’t directly recreate the Forte’s more aggressive ride. Instead, it gives Bent Metal’s women’s range a much more evenly spaced flex progression:

• Beam: 4/10
• Metta: 5/10
• Astra: 6/10
• Stylist: 7/10

The Transfer Pro and Clip add new positions rather than replacing outgoing models.

The Transfer Pro sits between the 8/10 Transfer and 11/10 (?!) Solution, while the Clip joins the BMX in Bent Metal’s youth collection.

The categories I place Bent Metal's 2027 lineup in below is according to how we at SnowboardingProfiles.com categorize and not how Bent Metal themselves categorize them. 

We have a neutral stance and are completely independent of any snowboard brand. So, our categories have nothing to do with marketing the boards. They are based purely on what we think the best use of the bindings is. 

We have included a beginner category below as well, but note that all bindings in the beginner category will also be included in one of the other categories (the category that the bindings are most relevant to, according to our categorization).

Details of New Models

Bent Metal have been busy, with 7 new bindings entering the lineup.

Bent Metal T-Zero

The biggest differences are found above the chassis.

The Logic used a soft Love Handle urethane highback with a large carry handle. The T-Zero replaces that with a solid TPU highback, although its published flex remains at 4/10.

Bent Metal has also introduced a new version of its Cube forward-lean adjuster that allows a completely neutral zero-degree setting. That should suit riders who prefer a straighter highback for rails, presses and a looser freestyle feel.

The other notable addition is the Fast Action toe strap. Bent Metal says this is intended to make entry quicker and reduce the amount of time spent adjusting the strap. While I was a fan of the T-Zero when I tested them in the winter, I’m not such a big fan of the Fast Action toe strap, which is also on the Transfer Pro (which I also otherwise liked).

It made it a little easer to strap in, by not needing to thread the ladder into the buckle, as its designed to do, but, for me, it made it mighty awkward to get out of them. If you’re like me and like to be able to release your back foot on the move and then just carry on skating, then you might also find them awkward, unless you can train yourself to lift your feet out of your bindings at a different (IMO less natural) angle. This is one “innovation” that I hope doesn’t last, or worse still – spread to the rest of the line!

Despite the component changes, the T-Zero occupies essentially the same position as the Logic. It should remain one of Bent Metal’s most laterally mobile traditional bindings and is best suited to park riding, freestyle and riders who prefer a softer connection to the board.

Bent Metal Transfer Pro

It fills an obvious gap between the regular Transfer and Solution. The Solution remains considerably more specialized with its 11/10 carbon highback and drive plate, while the Transfer Pro should provide a more practical high-performance option for aggressive all-mountain and freeride riding.

While it isn’t listed in the catalog or any of the retailers that are currently stocking it, it also uses the Fast Action toe strap that the T-Zero has – or at least the set that I tested did. You can see what I thought of that above (in the T Zero description) and in our review, when we publish it, which is scheduled to be released in October.

Bent Metal Astra

A 3-degree canted footbed and heel shock pad add cushioning and help center the rider’s stance.

The Astra doesn’t fully replace the Forte’s aggressive personality. Instead, it sits between the 5/10 Metta and 7/10 Stylist.

That should make it a more accessible and versatile option for riders who want more support than the Metta without moving straight into the firmer Stylist.

Bent Metal Clip

A soft nylon highback, Mobility ankle strap and Light Form toe strap keep the overall construction simple and forgiving.

Bent Metal describes the Clip as an everyday all-mountain binding built around durability, comfort and easy control.

It should provide a progression-friendly option for younger riders who have outgrown the BMX, but its sizing means it could also work for lighter adult riders looking for a soft and relatively straightforward binding.

Bent Metal Speed-In Flex

This looks like the most versatile Speed-In model. It should suit riders who want quicker entry without moving to the considerably more powerful Pro.

Bent Metal Speed-In Pro

EVA chassis padding and heel shock pads are intended to reduce vibration and impact without taking away too much precision.

With an overall 8/10 flex, the Speed-In Pro sits alongside the Lightning Supermatic at the aggressive end of Bent Metal’s fast-entry range.

The two use completely different entry systems, though. The Lightning uses Nidecker’s Supermatic platform, while the Speed-In Pro uses the reclining Speed-In highback system transferred from GNU.

Changes to Returning Models

Bent Metal Lightning Supermatic

The Lightning Supermatic gains the ability to hold an AirTag inside its binding disc.

That provides a concealed place to install a tracker without attaching anything externally to the binding or board.

Everything else otherwise appear unchanged.

Bent Metal Solution

Gets a new base-plate and footbed. The “Over-Drive Plate”.

Other Returning Bent Metal Bindings

The following bindings appear to return without meaningful construction changes outside their graphics or colorways:

The Bolt even appears to retain the same main colorways.

*flex rating changes for the Transfer and Metta’s baseplates and the Beam’s highback, but these appear to be rating changes to align better with the actual flex, rather than actual changes in their stiffness.

Summary of Bent Metal 2027 Snowboard Bindings Lineup Changes

Bent Metal’s 2027 lineup is considerably larger and now covers a wider range of entry systems.

The collection expands from 13 models to 18, with seven incoming names and only two departures.

The transfer of the Speed-In Flex, Light and Pro from GNU accounts for much of that growth. Combined with the Lightning Supermatic, Bent Metal now has four fast-entry bindings covering 4/10, 6/10 and 8/10 flex ratings.

The traditional two-strap lineup has also become more complete.

The T-Zero replaces the Logic without substantially changing its overall personality or position in the lineup, although its solid TPU highback, zero-degree forward-lean option and Fast Action toe strap (which I’ll report more on – and all the details about them of course - when I publish my T-Zero review in September) make it more than just a name change.

The Transfer Pro is probably the most interesting new performance model. Its 9/10 flex fills a gap between the regular Transfer and BMBW’s stiffest model, the Solution.

The Astra makes the women’s range more evenly spaced. Bent Metal still has four women-specific models, but they now progress neatly from the 4/10 Beam through the 5/10 Metta, 6/10 Astra and 7/10 Stylist.

The tradeoff is that there is no longer a women-specific equivalent to the 8/10 Forte.

The Clip also broadens the softer end of the range. Its youth/unisex positioning and broad S-to-L sizing should give riders another progression-friendly option alongside the BMX and Bolt.
