This is going to be a quick overview of all the 2020 YES snowboards.
First I'll take a look at the new boards for the 2019-20 season, and any old 2019 boards that aren't returning in a 2020 model.
Then I'll put each board into the categories where I see them fitting - which may or may not coincide with how YES categorize them.

All 2020 YES Snowboards by Category
YES's 2019-20 boards have been categorized below. This is according to the categories here at SnowboardingProfiles.com and not necessarily the same as what YES labels them as.
Of course these are only broad categories as every board is different and most don't fit neatly into anything, but this is a rough guide.

YES PARK/FREESTYLE SNOWBOARDS

*No YES boards strictly match my definition for this category. The PYL wouldn't be out of place here, but is better described as Freeride, IMO.

Summary
So there you have the 2020 YES snowboards.
Essentially 2 new boards in and the Decade just changing it's name - that plus some fairly significant changes to the Jackpot and 2020 and some new sizes for a few models.
New sizes:
- YES Standard: 167
- YES Ghost: 167
- YES PYL: 164W
- YES Optimistic: 161
Again I was lucky enough to get on several YES boards, and I was particularly enamored by the Hybrid. My review for that and all the 2020 YES boards that I rode will come out during the year. Check out the button below for all of Snowboarding Profiles' YES snowboard reviews.

Hey Nate – any idea when the Hybrid review might be coming?

Hi Mitchell
I have everything lined up until November, but I can push the Hybrid review up the queue. Can try to get it out Mid-September (busy time of year for me, otherwise I would try to get it out sooner for you). I can reply here to let you know when it’s published, if you’d like. But if you have any specific questions in the meantime about it, let me know.

Thanks, I was speaking to you on the warpig review in agreeance with your comments. I’ve now since sold that board and was looking to the Yes Standard as per your top 10 list, but been looking into the Hybrid since you said it was so fun. Now I’m just so damn torn between the two. I want a board for Japan, a lot of tree riding, but on the days there is no fresh snow I’d like something that I can advance my fundamental basics on, so was planning on the Standard so I can practice switch, 180’s etc… But then I don’t want to have to reposition the bindings everytime I hit some pow. I’m really torn man. I do have a K2 Cool Bean for the proper deep days also.
Nate says
Hi Mitchell
The Standard will ride powder OK centered as long as it’s not too deep. But yeah will definitely go better in powder setback but totally get that changing the bindings every time can be a pain. Tough one. I’d definitely take the Hybrid for powder/trees. And in terms of practicing fundamentals it’ll be fine, but for switch/180s Standard certainly better.

Hi Mitchell
This might be too late to be useful for you now, but just to let you know that I’ve published my YES Hybrid review, finally! You can check it out at the link below, if you’re still looking.

I’m super interested in the hybrid as well. How versatile is it? Is it a quiver pow board or can you hit side hits and carve groomers with it also?
Thanks for any info!!!
Nate says
Hi Jarod
I definitely found that you can carve groomers on it – it’s decent there, so it has some versatility – not strictly a pow board at all. And good edge hold in harder conditions too. And I found it had decent pop and that pop was easy to extract and solid landings. And fairly nimble too – so side hits no problem. Not the best for riding switch or landing/taking off switch though – so spins off those side hits, not so much.
