There’s a pretty decent shake-up for Rome’s 2027 snowboard lineup, particularly with the addition of the all-new Viper family and the new Rene collection.
The snowboard line grows overall, with 5 new models coming in and 3 models retiring. But it’s arguably the bindings line where there’s the bigger structural change. Rome adds more FASE options, brings in a new Volt FASE family, adds a new Katana FW Pro, and cuts out the entire Trace/Hydra line.

- Rene-Gade

- Muse
The Rene-Gade is naturally replaced by the Rene Pro and it looks like the Rene Pro is more or less a continuation of the Rene-Gade under a new name. The regular Rene then comes in as a more mellow, more accessible version of that board.
The Freaker and Muse are gone, and the new Viper family looks to be taking over a chunk of that all-mountain/directional twin territory.

So yeah, a fair bit of trimming in the binding line. The Trace and Hydra family is essentially gone, and Rome is leaning harder into FASE, while still keeping a strong two-strap offering through the Katana, 390 Boss and Brass families.
Rome Snowboards 2027 Full Lineup By Category
The categories I place Rome's 2027 lineup in below is according to how we at SnowboardingProfiles.com categorize and not how Rome themselves categorize them.
We have a neutral stance and are completely independent of any snowboard brand. So, our categories have nothing to do with marketing the boards. They are based purely on what we think the best use of each board is.
We have included a beginner category below as well, but note that all boards in the beginner category will also be included in one of the other categories (the category that the board is most relevant for, according to our categorization).

Details of New Models
Rome introduced 5 new snowboards and 5 new bindings for the 2027 line.
The Viper family is probably the biggest new snowboard story. Then there’s the new Rene collection, with the Rene Pro effectively replacing the Rene-Gade, and the regular Rene giving Rome a mellower version of that Rene-inspired directional twin.
Rome Rene Pro
The Rene Pro is the closest replacement for the outgoing Rene-Gade.
On paper, it looks very similar to the Rene-Gade. Same listed 9/10 flex*, same directional twin shape, same Stay Positive Camber (full/traditional camber) profile, same sizes and same general high-powered freestyle/all-mountain purpose.
It gets the more premium/burly construction: Carbon Omega HotRods, Flax Impact Plates, Twin Flax sidewall reinforcement and SinterSpeed base, also like the outgoing Rene-Gade.
So while it’s technically a new model, this one feels more like a rename/repositioning than a completely new personality.
Sizes: 153, 156, 159, 157W, 160W.

Rome Rene
The regular Rene is the more mellow, more approachable version of the Rene Pro.
It’s still a directional twin, but it swaps the full camber profile for Fusion Camber (Hybrid Camber) and drops the flex to 7/10*.
It also uses Bamboo Omega HotRods rather than the more powerful Carbon Omega setup found in the Rene Pro.
So, compared to the Rene Pro/Rene-Gade, the regular Rene is a more forgiving, easier to press, easier to ride casually and generally less demanding version.
But we still found it to be on the more aggressive side overall - just more mellow in comparison to the Rene Pro.
Sizes: 153, 156, 159, 157W, 160W.

Rome Viper Pro
The Viper Pro is the most aggressive/tech’d-out model in the new Viper family.
It’s a directional twin with Fusion Camber (Hybrid Camber), Directional Diamond 3D in the nose and Directional Double Kick in the tail.
So, while it’s not a full-on freeride board, it’s built to be more versatile in variable conditions, deeper snow and faster all-mountain riding than a more directional twin.
The Viper Pro gets Carbon HotRods, SinterStrong base and a Tri-Radial sidecut.
Flex is listed at 8/10*, so this is definitely the more powerful option in the Viper line.
Sizes: 142N, 146N, 150N, 154, 156, 158, 160W, 162W.

Rome Viper
The regular Viper is the more mellow version of the Viper Pro.
It keeps the same overall concept: directional twin shape, Fusion Camber, Directional Diamond 3D in the nose and Directional Double Kick in the tail.
But it mellows things out with Bamboo Omega HotRods and a softer 6/10 flex*.
This one looks like the more everyday-friendly all-mountain option in the new family.
Still designed to do a bit of everything, but not as demanding as the Pro.
Sizes: 154, 156, 158, 160W, 162W
Rome Women's Viper
The Women’s Viper is essentially the women’s-specific version of the Viper, with its own sizing and graphic.
Like the men’s Viper, it’s listed with a 6/10 flex*, Fusion Camber, Bamboo Omega HotRods, Directional Diamond 3D, Directional Double Kick, SinterStrong base and Tri-Radial sidecut.
Sizes: 142N, 146N, 150N.* How Rome rate its flex - which may differ to how we felt it

Rome Katana FW Pro
The Katana FW Pro is a new traditional two-strap binding.
It looks like Rome has effectively replaced the outgoing Katana FW and Katana AW Pro with this new FullWrap Pro model. It’s built for riders who want that more powerful, responsive FullWrap feel, rather than the surfier AsymWrap feel.
Flex is listed at 7/10*, with 9/10 adjustability, so this looks like the premium hard-charging traditional two-strap option in Rome’s 2027 line.

Rome Katana AW Pro FASE
The Katana AW Pro FASE is a new premium FASE model in the Katana family.
It’s built around the AsymWrap platform, with the FASE fast entry system, PivotMount FASE adjustability, OmniFlex ankle straps and ProGrip toe straps. It looks to sit as the more powerful, more premium FASE option above the regular Katana AW FASE.
Flex is listed at 7/10*, with adjustability at 9/10.

Rome Women's Katana AW FASE
The Women’s Katana AW FASE brings the FASE system into the women’s Katana line.
It’s built on the AsymWrap platform, with PivotMount FASE, OmniFlex ankle straps and ProGrip toe straps.
Flex is listed at 6/10*, so it should sit in that mid-flexing, all-mountain zone.

Rome Volt FASE
The Volt FASE is an all-new FASE binding family for 2027.
It’s built on Rome’s new MonoFrame chassis, which is a one-piece injected nylon chassis designed to give a smooth, mellow, predictable flex.
It also gets FASE Kink Ladders, three toe strap positions, two forward lean positions, a six-degree pre-rotated highback, universal mounting disc, OmniFlex ankle straps and ProGrip toe straps.
Flex is listed at 5/10, so this gives Rome a softer, more freestyle-friendly FASE option below the Katana AW FASE models.

Rome Women's Volt FASE
The Women’s Volt FASE is the women’s version of the new Volt FASE.
Same general idea: MonoFrame chassis, FASE entry, mellow flex, OmniFlex ankle straps and ProGrip toe straps.
Like the men’s version, flex is listed at 5/10.

Changes to Returning Models
The following returning snowboards received changes, or at least noted spec/chart changes, versus their 2026 models.
+ Warden: Drops the 164W size.
+ Party Mod: Camber description changes from Contact Rocker/flat-to-rocker to low-rise camber-to-rocker. This may be more of a relabel than a true profile change, as the 2026 model didn’t seem fully flat in reality, based on our measurements of it.
+ Mechanic/Royal: Same kind of camber relabel, changing to low-rise camber-to-rocker rather than flat-to-rocker/contact rocker.
Most other returning boards look to be carryovers, apart from graphics.
For bindings, the bigger story is less about returning-model tweaks and more about the lineup restructure. The Trace/Hydra family has been cut, FASE has expanded, and the Katana/390 Boss/Brass families now do most of the traditional two-strap work.
Summary of Rome 2027 Snowboards Lineup Changes
Rome made some pretty meaningful changes for 2027.
On the snowboard side, the biggest move is the new Viper family. That gives Rome a fresh all-mountain directional twin line, with the Viper Pro as the more aggressive/tech-heavy option, the Viper as the more accessible men’s model and the Women’s Viper rounding out the family.
The new Rene collection is also notable, though the Rene Pro looks very close to the outgoing Rene-Gade. The regular Rene is the more interesting addition there, giving riders a mellower, less demanding version of that same general concept.
On the bindings side, Rome has streamlined pretty aggressively. The Trace and Hydra models are gone, the 390 Boss/Brass line remains, and FASE gets a much bigger presence with the addition of the Katana AW Pro FASE, Women’s Katana AW FASE and the new Volt FASE models.
2026 | 2027 | |
|---|---|---|
Total Snowboards | 22 | 24 |
Women's Specific Snowboards | 5 | 5 |

Total Bindings | 20 | 16 |
Women's Specific Bindings | 7 | 6 |
New Bindings | 10 | 5 |

Overall, Rome’s 2027 line feels more streamlined on the binding side and more fleshed out on the snowboard side. The Viper family gives them a new all-mountain story, the Rene line gives them a two-tier Rene collection, and the FASE expansion gives riders more fast-entry options across different flex levels.
