Below is a quick overview of the 2021 GNU snowboards lineup.
First I will take a look at any new boards for the 2020-21 season, and any old 2019-20 boards that aren't getting a 2021 model.
Then I'll look at each board and put them into the categories that I see them belonging to.

I have categorized GNU's 2020-21 collection below. This is according to the categories here at SnowboardingProfiles.com and not necessarily the same as how GNU labels them.
Of course these are only broad categories as every board is different, but this is a rough guide.

Summary
So there you have the 2021 GNU snowboards.
The biggest changes on the men's side see GNU bring in a couple of short/wides and a splitboard, neither of which they had previously. So those are completely new models. The T2B has changed so much, it should actually be considered a new board all together. And to round out the changes on the men's side, the Rider's Choice gets a C3 camber brother (the RC C3).
On the women's side, the B Pro drops out and there's a new C3 camber freeride board, Barett Christy's pro model - the Barrett. The Chromatic also gets a small setback stance.
I was able to test a good few 2021 GNU boards and I'll release my reviews for those throughout the year.

Hi, I’m searching for a new board for ground tricks/mountain ride. My weight is 200 lbs and weight is 6″, with 10 US boot.
Is 158 Proto suitable for me?
Thanks
Nate says
Hi Rob
Thanks for your message.
Yeah, I think the Proto Synthesis would certainly work for what you’re describing and I think 158 would be the best size for your specs/how you describe your riding.

Hi ,
I’m searching a new snowboard mainly for jibbing and rails. I have Nitro Spell witch I think is a great all mountain snowboard but now I’m thinking between Salomon Oh Yeah (143) and Gnu Gloss (140). I’m 5’3” and I like to ride soft boards. What would you think suites me the best?
Nate says
Hi Late
Thanks for your message.
Between those 2, I would say the Oh Yeah is a better board for jibs/rails, size for size, but depending on sizing, the Gloss may be the better sizing. If you can let me also know your weight and boot size (which are more important for sizing than height, IMO), I can more accurately say which size would be better and whether the Gloss would be the better option because of size. Also if you could let me know the size of your Spell, that would help too.
Are you open to other options if the Oh Yeah isn’t the best size? Or are those the only ones you have available/want to look at?

Hey Nate,
so my setup will most probably look like 150 frenemy board and vans ferra boots.
What do you think would be a good match for the bindings. Had a look at the following but open for any other suggestions:
Union Trilogy, Milan, Juliet or Rosa
Burton Scribe

Hi Sus
Apologies for the late reply – have been having technical difficulties with website. All seems to be sorted now (hopefully)!
I would say the Trilogy, Juliet and Scribe would be the best match to the Frenemy/Ferra setup. The Milan would definitely work too – just a little on the softer side for the setup. The Rosa a little too soft though, IMO.

Hey Nate,
thanks for the overview. I am currently looking for a new snowboard (mostly having an eye on Lip tech or Gnu) I would say I am an intermediate rider and riding since 4 years now. My last board was the bataleon feelbetter, which was a good beginner board, easy, soft and playful but i didnt like it with icey conditions or when i went a bit faster. I mainly go piste or off-piste, like to play around a bit here and there (but not in the park) and IF there is powder also some powder. I am 1,70m and 70kg. Any good advice which you think would be a good board? Thanks and greetings from Switzerland. Sus
Nate says
Hi Sus
Thanks for your message.
From Lib Tech/GNU, I think the following would be good options for you. Still intermediate appropriate, but a little more advanced and should treat you better in icy conditions and for riding faster. I will add some notes after too.
– GNU Klassy
– GNU Ladies Choice
– GNU Velvet
– Lib Tech Dynamiss
– LIb Tech No.43
If you don’t really ride switch much and want more performance for powder, then I would go with something like the Klassy or Dynamiss. If you do ride switch a bit more and don’t see powder that often, then something like the Ladies Choice, Velvet or No.43 would work well.
Size-wise, I would be looking at something in the range 149-152. If you narrow down your list to 2-3 boards, I can give a more specific size for each board. If you could also let me know your boot size, that would really help for narrowing down the best sizes. Also if you could let me know the size of your feelbetter that would also help.
Hope this helps

Hey Nate,
thank you for your helpful comment. Unfortunately I don’t see powder that often. So that means I would go for the Ladies Choice or Velvet, or the Lib Tech No. 43. What do you think which one is the softest and most playful one? My boot size is US 9. And my feelbetter board was 148.
Greetings from the Alps ๐
Nate says
Hi Sus
Thanks for the extra info.
Not a lot of difference in terms of which is the softest most playful, but the Velvet would be the softest/most playful, followed by the Ladies Choice, then the No.43, but not much in it. If you wanted to go a little softer/more playful, there’s also the GNU Gloss. But I still think one of the other 3 would be a better option for what you’re describing.
Size-wise, I would say:
Velvet: 150
Ladies Choice: 151.5 or 148.5. The 151.5 would give you more stability at speed but the 148.5 would be a more playful option, feel like a softer flex overall and be more agile. The 151.5 would give better float in powder, but if you don’t see much of that, then that’s probably not a factor.
No.43: 149 or 152 – but given that you still want to keep things quite playful, probably leaning towards 149.
Width should work well with any of those options, IMO.

I am still reading more and more reviews and came across the Frenemy and the Yes Hello which both also sound like a pretty good option. Good for piste and off-piste, little jumps and powder and on icey conditions. So pretty versatile.
They also might be the better option for powder days. What do you think? And which size would you recommend?
Nate says
Hi Sus
Yeah those two a little better for powder days. Not streets ahead, but a little better, IMO. And both would suit what you’re describing too. I only gave Lib Tech/GNU options as you specifically mentioned those brands, but these 2 would certainly work for you, IMO.
Size-wise, I would say:
– Hello: 149
– Frenemy: 150
