The 2019 Never Summer snowboards line up should be coming out soon and they’ve got a couple of new entries coming in.
Most boards from 2018 are returning for 2019 bar one (see below).
New Boards for 2019
- Never Summer Heritage – not so much new as revived. The Heritage was in the Never Summer line for a long time previously and makes a come back for 2019, by popular demand.
- Never Summer Peacemaker – new freestyle oriented board in the line – kind of like the Warlock, except with ripsaw rocker profile and different sidecut, or like the Funslinger but not asym and with a different sidecut – but also has “Blower Stance” inserts so you can set it back on pow days – this is basically the only reason I have put it under all-mountain-freestyle as otherwise it would be an out and out park/freestyle board by the look of it (not a board I’ve had the chance to ride yet, unfortunately) and you could certainly classify it there as well
- Never Summer Shaper Twin – ironically not a twin – but it does have a centered stance. It’s got a tapered tail and a directional camber profile, so definitely not a twin – but what I would best describe as a directional powder freestyle board!)
Boards not returning for the 2019 Season
- Never Summer Onyx – which is surprising since it was their only out and out women’s freestyle board in the line

So, there’s Never Summer’s 2019 line up.
I was fortunate enough to ride some 2019 Never Summer snowboards over the spring and will be releasing my reviews of those throughout the year.

Trying to decide between the Peacemaker or the Shaper Twin. The Twin looks really fun considering the wide waist width especially with the 253cc. The Peacemaker also looks as if it can do a little of everything and the 155 looks like it could be a do it all board especially if the “Blower stance” does the trick. I saw in the comments that you had not had a chance to ride the Shaper Twin, have you had any experience with the Peacemaker this season?

Hi Jace
Thanks for your message.
Unfortunately I haven’t ridden either of those. Hopefully will get a chance to ride the 2020 models this season – but I know that’s no help for you right now!
But based on specs and experience with other Never Summer Boards – like the Funslinger, I would say that the Peacemaker would have reasonable float in powder. Not going to be like a powder specific or freeride board, but certainly a little better than the likes of the Funslinger and Proto Type Two. It’s also a little wider (per size) than the Funslinger, so that would help with float too. Maybe up there with the West. So, that would certainly make it a pretty good all-rounder. In the blower stance, it’s likely a little better for carving too – personally I like a little setback for carving, so that might also be a step up from the Funslinger in that sense (when in the Blower stance) – and has a little more effect edge (per size) which can also help with carving – and give a little more in terms of stability at speed. But it’s still not likely to be a bomber still, given that it’s still a softer flexing board. But this is all based on theory as, like I said, I haven’t had a chance to ride it yet.
Size-wise, I’m not sure what would fit you for either without knowing more info about you.
Hope this helps a little

Hi Nate,
Have you try the Never Summer Shaper Twin?
Can you say something about this board?
Regards,
Eran.
Nate says
Hi Eran
I haven’t tried the Shaper Twin unfortunately. So I can’t say anything from first hand experience.
It looks like they’ve tried to make a board that can ride powder but still work in the park. It looks like the kind of board that you size down for – so like a short/wide powder board, good for tree runs. And that shorter length can also help in the park. I have no idea how well they’ve achieved this combination, having not ridden it, but sounds like that’s what they’re trying to achieve with it. Sorry I couldn’t be more help on this one.
