This is an overview of the 2018 Capita snowboards line up.
I have separated this into the categories that I think that Capita’s boards fit into for the 2017-18 season.
Some boards might fit into more than one category. Capita have boards that fit into most categories as I see them.
Most of the Capita boards from 2017 return in 2018 and there are a couple of additions to the line up for 2018 – the Neo Slasher split board and the Navigator powder board.
The only board that isn’t returning from what I can tell is the Volcom Pat Moore Pro.

All of the beginner boards have also been classified somewhere else on this list.

All Mountain
I’m not sure that anything strictly fits in this category from Capita – not the way I categorize boards anyway. I would say that the Outerspace Living would be the closest to this category – that and the Mercury and Supernova but they are more aggressive (see below).
Aggressive All-Mountain Capita Boards
Men’s
- Capita Mercury
- Capita Supernova
Freeride Capita Boards
Men’s
- Capita Black Snowboard of Death (see review)
- Capita Warpspeed
Powder Capita Boards
Men’s
- Capita C.Slasher
- Capita The Navigator (new for 2018)
- Capita Spring Break Powder
- Capita Spring Break Slush Slasher
- Capita Kazu Kokubo Pro (Freestyle/Powder) (see review)
Split Boards
- Capita Neo Slasher (new for 2018)
The Neo Slasher is new for 2018 and is the split board version of the Charlie Slasher. Apparently a lot of people were using home split kits to make their Charlie Slasher into a split board – now you don’t have to because there is a factory split board version.
Kids/Youth Boards
- Children of the Gnar (comes in 137, 141, 145, 149)
Similar to the DOA men’s board.
- Micro-Scope (comes in 115, 120, 125, 130 & 135)
Similar to the Horrorscope men’s board.
Over to You
So, there you have the 2018 Capita snowboards line-up. Not too much different from the 2017 line up but some changes in there.
Again, Capita has boards for most categories and again, from my experienced with the 2018 boards of theirs that I demoed this season, some great boards again coming out of the Mothership.

Hi,
Thanks for all your info, but I’d like some more!
What would your recommendation be for someone looking to learn buttery tricks but still enjoys carving. I was looking at the Horrorscope but feel it might be too soft? Would the DOA fit the bill?
Or do you know of other brand that I should be looking at.

Hi George
Thanks for your message.
The Horrorscope would satisfy you for learning buttery tricks, but if it’s going to be your only board, you’re probably not going to enjoy it for carving, particularly if you like to go reasonably hard with your carving. The DOA would certainly be more suitable for the carving/speed side of things, but isn’t that easy to butter. It’s not the hardest to butter, but it’s moderately difficult to butter.
From what you’re describing, I would look at the Asymulator or Outerspace Living to get a good balance between butterability and carving.
In general I think an all-mountain-freestyle board is going to be your best bet.
Hope this helps with your decision
