Hello and welcome to my list of the best cheap snowboard bindings.
Below are what I consider the best bindings that can be bought on a small budget.
Because different bindings are made for different purposes this list will broken down into the following categories.
- Best Cheap Freestyle Bindings
- Best Cheap All-Mountain Bindings
- Best Cheap Freeride Bindings
- Best Cheap Beginner Bindings
How the Bindings were Chosen
The bindings below weren’t chosen simply as the cheapest of the lot. They had to be the best value for money.
For each category below I will show.
- The number of bindings I looked at in the cateogory
- The average cost of the bindings in that category
- The lowest costing bindings in that category
- The average rating score of that category
All prices are in USD and are recommended retail prices.
Note: This post only covers men’s cheap bindings. Check out the link below for the women’s equivalent.

Best Cheap Freestyle Bindings
Bindings: Union Flite Pro
Price: $149
SnowboardingProfiles.com Rating Score: 86/100
No. of freestyle bindings looked at: | 18 |
Cheapest Bindings I Looked at: | $129 |
Average price of freestyle bindings: | $209 |
Average Rating Score: | 79.6/100 |
Why these bindings were chosen
The Union Flite Pro’s ranked as the 3rd best freestyle bindings in my top 5 freestyle bindings list (which doesn’t take into account price).
When taking price into account these bad boys are super value for money. They scored way above the average score for freestyle bindings and are a huge $60 cheaper than the average price.
Best Cheap All-Mountain Bindings
Bindings: Burton Cartels
Price: $259
SnowboardingProfiles.com Rating Score: 84/100
No. of all-mtn bindings looked at: | 24 |
Cheapest Bindings I Looked at: | $159 |
Average price of all-mtn bindings: | $280 |
Average Rating Score: | 80.6/100 |
Why these bindings were chosen
The Cartel’s score almost 4 more points than the average all-mountain bindings – enough for them to nail the 4th spot in my top 5 all mountain bindings list.
But it’s not just performance that’s important to be crowned the best value for money binding here. They’ve got to also be reasonably priced. And at just $259 ($21 cheaper than the average all mountain binding) they represent great bang for buck.
If you’re on a really right budget then the Union Contact’s might be your best bet. They score slightly below the average for all mountain bindings (79/100) but come in at just $199 ($81 cheaper than the average price).
Best Cheap Freeride Bindings
Bindings: Union Factory
Price: $269
SnowboardingProfiles.com Rating Score: 86/100
No. of freeride bindings looked at: | 31 |
Cheapest bindings I Looked at: | $199 |
Average price of freeride bindings: | $289 |
Average Rating Score: | 78.7/100 |
Why these bindings were chosen
Union’s Factory bindings are great as both an aggressive all-mountain binding and as freeride bindings. If you’re on a budget looking for bindings that will do an awesome job as freeride bindings the Factory’s are up for the task.
They’re $20 cheaper than the average freeride bindings and a massive 7.3 points higher than the average rating. The only reason these bindings weren’t on my top 5 freeride bindings list is because they were already on the top 5 all-mountain bindings list!
Note: It looks like Union have discontinued the Factory’s so I don’t think there will be a 2016 model. Which is a shame because they were great bindings. You may still be able to find the 2015 model – and if you can find the 2015 model they’ll be even cheaper!
Best Cheap Beginner Bindings
Bindings: Salomon Tactic
Price: $159
SnowboardingProfiles.com Rating Score: 77/100
No. of beginner bindings looked at: | 17 |
Cheapest bindings I Looked at: | $159 |
Average price of beginner bindings: | $214 |
Average Rating Score: | 77.8/100 |
Why these bindings were chosen
Though very slightly under the average rating score for beginner bindings, the Tactics are the cheapest of the beginner bindings I looked at. Being $55 cheaper than the average price, they are super value for money.
On the other hand if you have another $60 to spend then the Flux RLs are worth checking out. At only $5 over the average beginner binding price they came in as my number 1 choice for beginner bindings with a rating score of 86/100.
