The Amelie Kober Snowboarder Biography begins in Bad Aibling, Germany where she was born in November of 1987. Now 27 and having competed on the FIS circuit since 2002, she has a lot of experience and some great results under her belt.
She has been a regular on the podium in FIS World Cup Events the FIS World Snowboarding Championships and at the Olympics. And there’s definitely still more to come from this snowboarding speedster.

FIS World Cup Events
Kober has competed in an impressive number of World Cup events and has achieved some great success including 12 wins and making the top 3 in more than 1 in every 5 events she enters.
In her most recent world cup event on January 9, 2015, she finished 15th but in the one prior to that, on December 18, 2014 she was 2nd. Some mixed results leading into this year’s world snowboard championships.
She seems to be equally as strong in the Parallel Giant Slalom (Parallel GS) as she is in the Parallel Slalom.

FIS World Snowboarding Championships
Amelie is entered in the upcoming 2015 world snowboarding championships with the Parallel Slalom and Parallel Giant Slalom events to be held on 22nd & 23rd January respectively.
Her best result at the championships was a Silver medal in Arosa, Switzerland in 2007. In 2013, in Canada she won Bronze in both the Parallel GS and the Parallel Slalom.

Winter Olympics Record
Amelie has a Silver and Bronze medal to her name at the Olympics. Given that this is seen as the pinnacle of the sport this is a great achievement.
She won the silver in 2006 at just age 18! She was the youngest competitor in the Parallel GS but still managed to get Silver.

What does the Future Hold?
It will be interesting to see if Kober will still be competing, and competitive, come the 2018 Olympics to see if she could add to her Olympic medal tally.
At the time of writing Kober was about to compete in the 2015 World Snowboarding Championships. It will certainly be interesting to see if she can add a Gold to her Silver and Bronze to complete the set.

Hey Nate. Interesting stats about Amelie. With top 10’s being at 50% and top 3’s at 20%, she’s going to reach the top 10 every second time, and top 3 every fifth time she enters a contest. Very impressive stats for a 27-year-old. If she continues at this rate, in 10 years she’ll no doubt have even more impressive of a record.
