Finding the best Christmas gifts for snowboarders can be a daunting task, especially if you’re not a snowboarder yourself.
But that snowboarder in your life likely wants something snowboarding related – well if they’re as obsessed as I am, that is!
And most people won’t have the budget to buy a snowboard or bindings or the like (if you do, you are the best friend/family member ever!).
The List of the Best Gifts
The gifts below some great gift options that will definitely be appreciated by your snowboarder.
If you are looking to get something like a snowboard, bindings, boots or goggles, make sure to do your research so that you know you are getting the right type and that it will fit properly. This website and other resources can help you to choose the best option.
Gift Idea #1: Snowboarding Socks
O.K. I know socks right, the classic dud gift!
However, when it comes to snowboarding most people don’t have enough socks – and if they do they’ll wear out soon enough and they’ll need more. So this is a fail safe. This is a gift I really appreciated recently.
Great if your budget for gifts is lower.
Gift Idea #2: Snowboard Pants or Jacket
O.K. this one isn’t necessarily on the low budget side – but if you’ve got a higher budget, then this is one of those things that is easier to get.
As long as you get the right size and you think the snowboarder you are buying for will like the style then half the battle is done. There are a couple of other things to make sure of though.
The most important being that you get something that has decent waterproofing and breathability – check out the link below to learn more about choosing snowboard pants.

Same applies for snowboard jackets.

Gift Idea #3: A Snowboarding Lesson
No matter how good your snowboarder is, they can always be better. I took lessons after 7 years of riding without any lessons.
The difference it made was instant and significant.
A professional instructor can look at a rider’s technique and find the faults and instruct them on how to correct them. Getting lessons was the best money I ever spent on snowboarding.
Gift Idea #4: Waxing kit
Save your snowboarder some money by getting them a waxing kit. If they can wax their board themselves they’ll save tons in the long run because they won’t have to pay someone to wax it for them.
And they’ll get better performance out of their board because they’ll be able to wax more often.
Gift Idea #5: Gloves
You can’t really go wrong with gloves, so long as you get the right size and get something that’s going to be properly waterproof.
Best bet, IMO, is to look for something that’s made from gore-tex, to make sure that those hands are going to stay dry. Dry hands = warm hands.
Gift Idea #6: Helmet
If you’re snowboarder doesn’t yet ride with a helmet or they damaged their current one, then encourage them to look after their head by getting them a helmet.
This one is particularly popular with parents for their kids!
Gift Idea #7: Lift Ticket
Lift tickets never go unappreciated. Buy your snowboarder a lift ticket for a nearby mountain and you’ll be forever in their good books.
Just make sure they don’t have a season pass for that mountain already!
If there is more than one mountain in close proximity, then get them a pass for the mountain that they don’t have a season pass for – they’ll appreciate being able to explore a different mountain at no extra cost for them.
Or, if you know of a trip they have organized somewhere, get them a pass for the mountain they are planning on visiting.
Gift Idea #8: Base Layer
Like socks, base layers wear out eventually.
Also, most snowboarders don’t own enough of these and re-wear base layers that haven’t been washed.
It’s not that pleasant sometimes, but it’s better than not going riding!
Getting your snowboarder a new base layer top or pants, will keep them smelling fresher coming off the mountain! Shop base layers at the link below.
Gift Idea #9: Snowboard bag
If your snowboarder doesn’t yet have a snowboard bag, then this is great gift idea.
Try to get one that will fit all of their gear. My snowboard bag is big enough that I can fit my snowboard, snowboard boots & helmet in the main compartment – with room for more if I need it – and then I can fit jacket, tools, gloves, goggles etc in the separate compartment.
Gift Idea #10: Gift Cards!
Some see gift cards as a cop out and a gift that doesn’t have the same thought put into it as some others – but trust me, this is a gift that is greatly appreciated.
Being able to research and choose your own gear that is really suited to you, is great.
And if they are looking to get a new snowboard, new bindings etc, then they’ll be able to use this towards it.
The real advantage of this gift is – they know exactly what they need and you may not.
It’s also really easy to get something within your budget. Most snowboarding stores have a range of different amounts you can get.
