2023 Niche Snowboards Overview

A couple of boards are dropping out for the 2023 Niche snowboards lineup, but in one case it's just about a name change. Overall mostly status quo for Niche this year, but the Maelstrom does become a unisex option. 

First I will take a look at any new boards for the 2022-23 season, and any 2021-22 boards that aren't returning with a 2023 model.

Then I'll place each board into the categories where I see them fitting best and finally take a look at any changes to returning models.

Below, I have categorized Niche's 2022-23 lineup. This is according to the categories here at SnowboardingProfiles.com and not necessarily the same as how Niche might label them. 

Of course these are only broad categories as every board is different, but this is a rough guide. 

I wouldn't class any Niche board as being strictly beginner. The closest would be the men's Wraith and the women's Minx.

I wouldn't class any Niche board as strictly belonging to this category. Though the Story and Aether could both be argued to fit here.

Summary

So there you have the 2023 Niche snowboards. 

An already small line got a little smaller but there's still a good spread across the different categories. 

Out with the Old

The Hawthorn, which was like a slightly more mellow version of the Maelstrom is out. 

The Ember also goes but it was always the same board as the Pyre. The Pyre just didn't have the 140 and 145 sizes that the Ember had and now it gets those sizes, so no real change there.  

In with the New

Nothing strictly new this year, but the Pyre, as mentioned above gets new sizes and the Maelstrom now also gets new sizes, making that board also a unisex option. 

Changes to Existing Models

No real changes to any of the returning boards, except: 

• Pyre: Two new sizes - 140 & 145. 
• Maelstrom: Two new sizes - 148 & 151.
