Starting us off at #5, we have Burton's Blossom.

If you like to drive a board hard and need it to be able to take what you can throw at it and you have a freestyle flavor to your all-mountain riding, the Blossom might be the board for you.

If you're half committed, it won't be your friend, but if you put the energy this board needs into it, it will reward you with all sorts of return energy - in the form of high-end pop, spring and an ability to allow you to carve trenches!

The Sensor Pro is a new board from Nidecker for 2025 and it's a beast!

If you want to go hard on a board that seemingly has no limits, at least not any that I could reach, and want to get freaky freestyle everywhere on the mountain and/or go big in the park, the Sensor Pro would have you covered and then some.

Not for the faint hearted or half hearted, but if you like to go hard and need a board that can take it, it'd be extremely impressive if you didn't find that in the Sensor Pro.

Next up at #3, we have Capita's Super D.O.A.

The bigger burlier brother of the Capita Defenders of Awesome (D.O.A), the Super D.O.A is a slightly stiffer ride that also packs even more pop.

It's also super light - getting air on this deck is a thing of beauty. You have easy access pop, but also a high pop ceiling when you really wind it up - and with all that pop and a feather weight, you might be a little surprised the first time you launch this thing of a jump - so take it easy!

But then when you land, you can still really stomp those landings - whilst at the same time not being  pretty forgiving of bad landings.

But while jumping is this boards forte, it's not the only thing it excels at. It can lay a really decent carve and is really good at speed.

In at #2, we have YES' Standard Uninc.

The Standard Uninc is a slightly stiffer, full camber version of the longstanding Standard.

The result is a more aggressive ride, but one that's still not going to overpower you too easily, so long as you're at least a solid intermediate rider. This is a super versatile ride that will have you ripping everywhere.

It's also somewhat powder capable, owed somewhat to an extra set of inserts placed behind the regular insert pack (called "slam back inserts").

And finally in at #1, we have Burton's Free Thinker.

This is the least burly board in this list, so it does have it's limits. But it's still an overall aggressive, powerful board, but adds an ability to be more forgiving when you need or want it to be.

It's light and snappy and just great to ride, especially when carving up the groomers, hitting and spinning off whatever side-hit you can find and hitting the jump line in the park.

This was one of those boards that I just didn't want to stop riding - and one where you can't take the grin off your face, even if your life depended on it!

Next up, in the #3 spot, is the Salomon Assassin Pro - the big brother to the Assassin.

This board is one of those boards that you can ride aggressively on, when you feel for it, but that you can also slow down and ride more casually when you want to, like when you're getting tired.

Overall, it's super light, poppy, snappy and lively and apart from jibbing, it's a take-you-anyway, ride-anyway-you-want kind of ride. The best on this list for riding powder, IMO, too, so if you want an aggressive freestyle-oriented ride, that can also be your one board quiver, the Assassin Pro should be high on your list.

The bigger burlier brother of the Capita Defenders of Awesome (D.O.A), the Super D.O.A is a slightly stiffer ride that also packs even more pop.

It's also super light - getting air on this deck is a thing of beauty. You have easy access pop, but also a high pop ceiling when you really wind it up - and with all that pop and a feather light weight, you might be a little surprised the first time you launch this thing of a jump - so take it easy!

But then when you land, you can still really stomp those landings - whilst at the same time not being completely unforgiving of bad landings. So if you want a jumper and prefer your flex a little stiffer than medium and a board that can also bomb, the Super DOA should be on your shortlist for sure.

    Burton Blossom Review

    Board: Burton Blossom

    Flex: Medium-Stiff (7/10)

    Rating: 88.1/100

Next up, at #4, we have the Burton Blossom.

Whilst on paper, the Blossom looks to be the softer flexing more easy going board, compared to the Free Thinker, in reality, from my experience anyway, the Blossom is the stiffer, burlier board. Like, to a point that this is what I expected the Free Thinker to feel like and I expected the Free Thinker to feel like this!

So if you like your riding supercharged and like to rip a carve as much as you like to hit jumps, then the Blossom is worth checking out.

The Standard Uninc is new from yes for 2023. Basically they've taken they're longstanding Standard and given it a full camber profile and beefed up the stiffness just a touch.

The result is a more aggressive ride, but one that's still not going to overpower you, so long as you're at least a solid intermediate rider.

YES' Uninc models sometimes only last one season. I'm hoping that's not the case for the Standard Uninc, because this board is sick!

    Burton Free Thinker Review

    Board: Burton Freethinker

    Flex: Medium-Stiff (7/10)

    Rating: 93.2/100

And finally in at #1, we have Burton's Free Thinker. Whilst it appears to be unchanged from previous models, the new Free Thinker is quite different in feel. It has become more accessible but don't let you think that means it's been dumbed down.

This is still an overall aggressive, powerful board, but it's now a little more forgiving and more snappy. It was just one of those boards that you didn't want to stop riding - and one where you can't take the grin off your face, even if your life depended on it!

Whatever they did must have been fairly subtle for it not to be published as an actual change but whatever it was, something just clicked.

Starting off the list at #5, we have the Burton Freethinker. The Freethinker is the definition of this category.

It's aggressive, full camber and definitely on the stiffer side. This is one for advanced to expert riders only, who like their freestyle big and bold and like to carve trenches or straight line it, when they're not launching off side hits or big jumps in the park.

    AGGRESSIVE ALL-MTN-FREESTYLE BOARD #3

    YES Basic Uninc RDM

    Board: YES Basic Uninc RDM

    Flex: Medium-Stiff (6.5/10)

    Rating: 87.8/100

Don't mistake this for the regular YES Basic. The Basic Uninc RDM replaces the Camrock that you'll find on the Basic with a full camber profile - that plus being noticeably stiffer in flex - make this a much beefier, more aggressive ride.

But it still keeps the outline of the Basic, so it still has that freestyle flavor to it.

So, if you're looking for something that's true twin, freestyle oriented, but stiffer and more carvy than your average freestyle board, then the Basic Uninc RDM should be making your shortlist.

And if you want your aggressive all-mtn-freestyle board to be your one board quiver, but still want some powder performance, then the Basic RDM has slam back inserts to help improve powder performance on a board that would otherwise be pretty average in powder (note the powder rating is based on performance when in it's reference stance).

    Capita Super DOA

    Board: Capita Super D.O.A

    Flex: Medium-Stiff (6.5/10)

    Rating: 88.4/100

And finally in the # spot, is the Salomon Assassin Pro - the big brother to the Assassin.

This board is one of those boards that you can ride aggressively on, when you feel for it, but that you can also slow down and ride more casually when you feel for it, like when you're getting tired.

Overall, it's super light, poppy, snappy and lively and apart from jibbing, it's a take you anyway, ride anyway you want kind of ride. The best on this list for riding powder, IMO, too, so if you want an aggressive freestyle-oriented ride, that can also be your one board quiver, the Assassin Pro should be high on your list.

Changes to the Eligibility for this list

Note that this list has changed a lot this year. This is because I decided to change the criteria for this list, so that only boards 6.5/10 flex and stiffer were eligible for this list. This was to create a more distinct difference between this list and the (non-aggressive) all-mountain-freestyle list.

Boards like the Niche Crux, Lib Tech TRS, GNU RC C3 are now in the all-mountain-freestyle category. The YES Ghost which was also in this list last year, doesn't have a 2022 model. This is why there are 4 new boards making the list this year.

The TRS C3 is the #5 board this year - it's new for 2021 and offers a C3 camber version of the longstanding TRS C2X (the TRS is now C3, and the C2X model is gone).

The TRS C3 is an awesome deck for jumps (whether that be in the park or whatever you can find to boost off anywhere else) but is also something you can set a good carve on and simply bomb on, when you feel that need.

The Ghost is a hard charging all-mtn-freestyle ride with a traditional camber profile.

Apart from powder (which this type of board isn’t really designed for) the Ghost doesn’t show any real weaknesses – but it does show plenty of strength.

It’s snappy, aggressive, quick and can really hold a carve.  And, though not its forte, it can hit a jib pretty well too when you feel for it. And it still manages to be fairly buttery.

The RC C3 is one of those boards that's just an absolute pleasure to hit any kind of jump on, be it small jumps in the park, big jumps in the park, or whatever sidehit or anything else you can get air off.

    Rating: 87.9/100

With a name like the Ultimate Ride, you're expecting good things! And the Ultimate Ride doesn't disappoint.

It's the stiffest on this list. Usually I have a limit to how stiff I want a board to be, if I'm still going to be riding freestyle sometimes, all be it aggressively, and this on the end of that limit, but it just absolutely crushes. It's the most stable at speed on this list and the best carver.

But it can still certainly jump - and really stomp a landing. Great for larger jumps.

Not overly buttery, so if that doesn't bother you, and you want a board that charges, but still can nail a jump on and ride switch well, then this might be your board.

This is the first year that I rode Endeavor boards - and the Clout really impressed me. It's one of those boards that can get very aggressive, but doesn't tire you out, towards the end of the day - and let's you ride more casually when you feel the need.

It's super versatile and despite it's mostly aggressive nature, it can butter pretty well and is better than most in this category in powder, thanks to an elongated nose and tail.

    YES Ghost

    Board: YES Ghost

    Price: $499

    Flex: Medium (5.5/10)

    Rating: 89.1/100

The Ghost is a hard charging all-mtn-freestyle ride with a traditional camber profile.

Apart from powder (which this type of board isn’t really designed for) the Ghost doesn’t show any real weaknesses – but it does show plenty of strength.

It’s snappy, aggressive, quick and can really hold a carve.  And, though not its forte, it can hit a jib pretty well too when you feel for it. And it still manages to be fairly buttery, when you're getting up on the tip or tail.

    Board: Salomon Assassin Pro

    Price: $549

    Rating: 89.7/100

I rode the Assassin Pro in the 2018 model, but I got more time on the 2020 model - and it was time well spent!

And in the #1 spot, we have the Niche Crux!

The Crux is new from Niche for 2020 and as soon as I rode it, I know they were onto a winner with this one.

It nails jumps, it rails carves and you can really open this board out and bomb, when you feel the need. But at the same time it manages to be relatively buttery for this type of board.

It's just super fun to ride, particularly when carving and hitting jumps of all types.

    >>TOP 5 AGGRESSIVE ALL-MOUNTAIN-FREESTYLE SNOWBOARDS
    (Latest Season)

Note: If you like your all-mtn-freestyle ride a little stiffer, then there are some great options that didn’t make this list – like the Capita SuperDOA, Ride Burnout, Lib Tech T Rice Pro and Burton Freethinker. For me, they were too stiff for an all-mtn-free for my legs and my weight – but if you prefer a stiffer board, have strong athletic legs (not saying that I have weak legs 😉 - but they're average strength) or are on the heavier side, then those, in addition to the options above, are definitely worth looking at.

The Helix got the nod here just ahead of the Ride Burnout - mostly because I felt the flex of the Helix was a little more lively than the Burnout. But if you have very strong legs or just like a board with a stiffer flex, then the slightly stiffer Burnout might be your better bet.

But for me, the Helix was a lively responsive ride that still allowed to you perform tricks on. It's not super easy to butter on but for jumps, spins and generally charging down the groomers, it's a super fun and really aggressive ride.

This board is super lively – with heaps of pop, awesome on landings, fast and aggressive. You can carve pretty hard and pop off everything you find on your way down the mountain.

What's even more impressive is that this is the cheapest board on the list - and more than $70 cheaper than the average price of the 19 boards!

So, if your budgets tight but you still want a hard charging all-mtn-freestyle ride, then the DOA is a great option.

    2016-17

aggressive-all-mountain-freestyle-snowboardsBelow are what I rate as the top 5 aggressive-all-mountain-freestyle snowboards for the 2016-17 season.

This is a new category this year. I’ve brought this in because I’ve ridden some awesome boards in this category – and decided these types of boards were different enough to warrant their own category separate from All-Mountain-Freestyle boards.

As per tradition here at SnowboardingProfiles.com, the boards will each be given a rating out of 100.

To give some perspective of the ratings:

    • I looked at 23 different aggressive-all-mountain freestyle boards

    • The highest score was 90.6/100 (see below)

The Ripsaw is an awesome deck for aggressive freestyle riding over the whole mountain. It’s fast, aggressive, jumps like a dream, is killer for the pipe and, like any board in this category should, holds a great carve.

It’s the stiffest flexing board on this list, so if you prefer a flex that’s between medium and stiff, then this might be the best option for you on this list.

This wasn’t only my favorite aggressive-all-mountain-freestyle board of the season but was the favorite out of any board I rode from any category.

This board is super lively – with heaps of pop, awesome on landings, fast and aggressive, you can carve hard and pop off everything you find on your way down the mountain.

What’s even more impressive is that this is the cheapest board on the list – and more than $100 cheaper than the average price for this type of board!

    Buying Past Season Models
