Winter 2016/17 is Coming!
With some ski resorts already getting snow it’s hard not to get excited the coming snow season.
And if you’re in the Pacific Northwest US/Canada then there’s even more reason to get excited with a predicted La Nina weather pattern expected to bring tons of snow!
And don’t worry if you’re anywhere else – I’m sure you’ll get lots of snow too – start sacrificing those pineapples!
What’s Coming for Snowboarding Profiles?
With the new winter comes some exciting new additions for Snowboarding Profiles.
- New reviews, New Gear, New Technology
- Some new tools in the works
- More great snowboarding tips and advice
- A new email course “The 7 Steps to Better Snowboarding”
New Reviews, New Gear, New Technology
Last winter/spring I spent countless days demoing boards, bindings and boots so that I could add to my collection of reviews and give you the 411 on what I thought of it all.
This will also mean some changes to my top 10’s with new gear making the lists, some changing positions and others falling off the lists all together.
There’s definitely some amazing new gear for the 2016/17 season and some tried and true favorites returning. A lot of that gear is already available and more still to become available.
The reviews have been slowly coming out, as I write them, over the last couple of months and will continue to come out well into the new year (I told you I demoed a lot of gear right!?)
New Tools in the Works
Over the summer I have been working on some new tools to make choosing snowboard gear even easier.
Gotta say I’m pretty excited about this!
ETA on their arrival unknown but hoping to be before Christmas.
Snowboarding Tips and Advice
This site is built on providing great advice that I stand by – particularly in relation to snowboard gear – and that will remain the same.
Though I have really just been releasing reviews over the summer (because I’ve had so many to get out) I plan to write more gear advice type posts soon and over the winter.
New Email Course
If you look in the side bar on your right (near the top) you should see the sign up form for my new email course “The 7 Steps to Better Snowboarding”. Or “7 Steps to Becoming a Better Snowboarder” as I might rename it. Still working on that.
Anyway the content of the course is completed and you can sign up to that course now.
Winter is Coming
Did I say that already?
Well, I reiterate – because, though I have enjoyed the summer, I am now very ready for the snowy season. And it may well be a very snowy one.
If you’re in the Southern Hemisphere you might be winding up your season soon and winter is going, not coming – though I think you’ll still get a month or two more in yet, right? Depending on where you are. Either way – come to the northern hemisphere – because we’ll just be getting started as your season ends – why not extend your riding.
I’m going to be mostly around the Pacific Northwest this winter so I’m hoping that this La Nina does come! Where will you be snowboarding mostly this winter? Always curious to know where my readers are riding. Let me know in the comments below.
Stay Calm and Wait for the Snow,
Nate

New Mexico beginner here, Rez Indian, just got my pass for Pajarito and Sipapu. I’m 52 , and am hooked after going my first 6 times last year. I’m having trouble with my heel slide and still a bit nervous getting off the lift. I have gotten all my safety gear, helmet, wrist guards, hillbilly pads, etc. I love it but still very much learning. I appreciate your website. Thank you
