For those on a tighter budget, but still wanting something of decent quality, we have carefully selected our list of what we consider to be the best cheap women's snowboard boots for 2024-2025.
Everyone's style, physique and ability level are different, so this list has been broken up into 3 different boot categories and we've selected the best value-for-money boot from each category (plus several alternatives from each category):
- Best cheap women's all-mountain-freestyle (mid-soft to medium flex) boots
- Best cheap women's all-mountain-freeride (medium to mid-stiff flex) boots
- Best cheap women's beginner boots
* note that this year we have condensed the main categories into 2 (all-mountain-freestyle and all-mountain-freeride) from having 3 previously (freestyle, all-mountain, freeride).
How Each Boot was Chosen
The boots chosen for each category aren’t necessarily the cheapest, but rather offer the best value-for-money. However, to have made the list, they have to be at least cheaper than the average price of boots from their particular category.
Under each category I will show:
- the average cost of boots in that category
- the cheapest boot I found in that category;
- the reasons why I chose the boot I chose; and
- Some alternatives that are also good value for money
All prices shown in USD.

Why These Boots Were Chosen
The Women's Hi-Standard Pro might be $15 more than the average price for this category, but they are a long way above the average in terms of performance and offer great value-for-money. They went up by $30 this year, making them not as good value as they were, but still manage to hold on to this spot.
They are the #2 boots in our women's top 5 all-mtn-freestyle snowboard boots list this year and that's saying something given their price and given they are $47 cheaper than the average price of the other 4 in the top 5.
Traditional lace boots tend to be cheaper, but if you're looking for a different lacing system, see the alternatives below.
Some other notable numbers:
- The average price for this category went up by $7 compared to last year.
- The average price for the top half (top 8 scorers) was $319, making the Hi-Standard Pro $20 cheaper than those that scored in the top half of this category.
- The Women's Hi-Standard Pro were the 3rd lowest price in the top half.
- Of the 9 boots that had a price of $299 or less, not named the Hi-Standard Pro, the average score was 78.5. This compares to the Hi-Standard Pro with a score of 89.7.
Alternatives
Vans Hi-Standard OG (Traditional Lace) - $199 | 84.5 - these are perhaps even better value, if you're looking to go a little cheaper and softer flexing.
ThirtyTwo STW Double BOA (Double Boa) - $289 | 82.8 points
BEST CHEAP WOMEN'S ALL-MOUNTAIN-FREERIDE BOOTS

Boot: Nidecker Altai W

Average price of all-mountain boots: | $365
Average Rating Score: | 84.1/100 |
Why These Boots Were Chosen
Nidecker's Altai W takes over this spot this year.
The Nidecker Altai W are not only $66 cheaper than the average price for this category, they are also the equal cheapest of every snowboard boot we tested for this category. Yet, they still manage to score just above the average score.
And when digging a little deeper, they are $94 cheaper than the average price of boots that score above the average score for this category!
Some other notable numbers:
- The average price for this category went up by $23 compared to last year.
- The average price for this category is $81 higher than the all-mtn-freestyle category (see above).
- The average price for the top half (top 10) was $393, making the Altai W $94 cheaper than those that scored in the top half of this list.
- The Altai W were the equal lowest priced boots in the whole category - what makes this even more surprising is that they are Double BOA - and that usually means a higher price tag than traditional lacing, hybrid and speed lace.
Alternatives
Vans Luna Ventana Pro (Double BOA) - $315 | 86.7 points - last year's top spot, but it went up by $46 this year. Still good value-for-money for sure, but just not as good as it was.
Nidecker Rift W (Double BOA) ($349 | 88.3 points)
BEST CHEAP WOMEN'S BEGINNER BOOTS

Boot: Vans Women's Hi-Standard OG
Price: $199
Snowboarding Profiles' Beginner Rating Score : 92.0/100
BEGINNER BOOTS CATEGORY STATS |
# of beginner boots rated: | 18
Cheapest boots rated: | $199
Average price of beginner boots: | $255
Average Rating Score: | 87.5/100 |
Why These Boots Were Chosen
The Vans Women's Hi-Standard Pro takes out this spot again this year - a few years running now.
This is somewhat skewed in the case of the beginner category, since prices are taken into account in the scores.
But the Women's Hi-Standard OG still offer great value for money for those starting out on their snowboard journey at $56 cheaper than the average price and the equal cheapest for the whole category.
Some other notable numbers:
- The average price for this category stayed the same as last year.
- Price is taken into account for the scores for beginner boots – so this is somewhat skewed for this category.
- The average price for the top half (top 9) was $249, making the Hi-Standard OG $50 cheaper than those that scored in the top half of this list. The bottom half of the list had a an average price that was actually slightly higher at $261, because price in this case influenced the scores.
- The Hi-Standard OG were the equal cheapest in the whole category.
- The average price for this category is the lowest of all the categories, naturally being a beginner list - and with those that are suited to this category being softer flexing boots.
Alternatives
Burton Mint (Speed Lace) ($229 | 91.4 points)
Ride Harper (Single BOA) ($229 | 89.1 points)
