WOMEN'S BEGINNER BOOT #5=
Boot: Thirty Two STW Double Boa Women's
- US
- CA
Lacing System: Double Boa
Flex: Medium-Soft (3/10)
Rating: 89.8/100
Starting off the list at #5, we have the Thirty Two Women's STW Double Boa.
The STW Double Boa is a double boa evolution to the longstanding STW Boa (which was a single Boa).
Apart from being a great flex for beginners, they have great adjustability and heel hold (depending on fit of course), and come with a really reasonable price-tag for a double boa boot.

Next up we have the Ride Harper.
The right price and the right flex for that first pair of boots to help you progress easily through the beginner phase.
Plus super easy to get in and out of, so you won't have any frustrations with that -and super easy getting those boots on in a cold car park before hitting the slopes.

Lacing System: Single Boa
Flex: Medium-Soft (4 out of 10)
Rating Score: 90.3/100
Coming in at #4 we have the Vans Encore OG boots.
The Encore OG are a single boa boot that have what's typically the ideal flex for beginners who want something that will stick with them for a while compared to a super soft boot. They're soft enough to be forgiving and easy to progress in but have enough firmness that when you're starting to ride a bit faster they can still stick with you for a bit longer.

WOMEN'S BEGINNER BOOT #3
Boots: K2 Haven
- US
- CA
- UK/EU
Lacing System: Single Boa
Flex: Medium-Soft (4/10)
Rating: 92.6/100
K2’s Haven boots are ideal for anyone starting out snowboarding. Medium-soft, forgiving, really comfortable and super easy to get in and out of.
And that single boa system is not only fast and easy to get in and out of – it also makes it really easy to get the boots tight enough. A great choice for anyone who struggles to get traditional lacing or speed lacing tight enough (and you can stomach the lack of adjustability).
They're also a great freestyle boot - so for those looking to get into riding freestyle/park once they're more advanced, these boots are a great investment - and they are the kind of boots that can stay with you for a long time as you progress.

Boots: Vans Women’s Hi-Standard OG
- US
- CA
- UK/EU
Lacing System: Traditional Lacing
Flex: Medium-Soft (4/10)
Rating: 92.6/100
The #2 boots for this list are Vans' Women's Hi-Standard OG.
These boots are super comfortable (though comfort in snowboard boots can be subjective) and have the ideal flex for beginners that make them super-forgiving, easy to learn with but are still of decent quality and not so soft that you can't ride them for years to come, as you progress.
And with that traditional lacing you get great adjustability, even if it does mean that it takes a little longer to set them up.

And finally, in at #1, are the Burton Mint boots.
Featuring a nice soft-medium flex for an easy and forgiving ride, perfect for the beginner, the Mint packs a heap of performance into a really reasonable price tag.
Like any good beginner boot Burton’s Mint boots are nice and comfortable, easy to get in and out of and are really easy to adjust for a nice custom fit.
Once you get used to the speed lacing system (which is pretty easy once you’ve done it a couple of times) you’ll be flying in and out of these boots – though you may not want to take them off!
There are no obvious weaknesses to these boots and they will allow the beginner rider to progress seamlessly and in comfort and style, without breaking the bank!
The Mint’s also come in a Boa version and a lace version. The Boa version is a little more expensive and the Lace version a little cheaper, each with their own pros and cons. I have included the different score breakdowns for each lacing version below.

Boots: Ride Sage
Price: $219
Lacing System: Single Boa

Rating Score: 87.5/100
Starting off the list in #5, we have the Ride Sage.
Whilst they're the most expensive in this list, and a little above the average price for boots in this category, their still really reasonably priced. And they're something that you can ride for a long time into your progression - boots that have enough quality and response to stay with you for a long time without out growing them.
That and they are, of course to make this list, nice and forgiving and easy to learn in.

Price: $169

Flex: Soft (2/10)
Rating: 89.2/100
And in at #3, we have the Thirty Two Women's Shifty Boa.
If you're looking for one of the softest, easy going boots on the market, then the Shifty Boas are a great option. And that softness makes these boots super forgiving.
They're not going to last as long in terms of progression as the Ride Sage (see #5) or K2 Haven (#3), but they are going to make for super fast progression.
They are also the lowest priced boot on this list and are nice and easy to get in and out of.

WOMEN'S BEGINNER BOOT #2
Boots: Vans Women’s Hi-Standard OG
Price: $199
Lacing System: Traditional Lacing
Flex: Medium-Soft (3/10)

The #2 boots for this list are Vans' Women's Hi-Standard OG.
These boots are super comfortable and have the ideal flex for beginners that make them super-forgiving, easy to learn with but are still of decent quality.
They’re the only traditional laced boot on this list, so if you have trouble with getting traditional laces tight enough they may not be the ideal pick for you – but otherwise they are about the perfect boot for beginners.
Traditional laces do offer a lot of adjustability to get a really personalized fit though - so there's a trade off.
And they look pretty darn good too (IMO).

Comparison Stats
Of 24 women’s boots that I rated as beginner boots:
WOMEN'S BEGINNER BOOT #5
Boots: Thirty Two 86 FT Women’s
Price: $179
Lacing System: Speed Lacing (32’s Fast Track)
Flex: Medium-Soft (3 out of 10)
Rating Score: 89.8/100
The 86FT Women’s are the second cheapest boot on this list. But that’s certainly not the only thing that makes these great for beginners.
They have a nice medium-soft flex that helps to make them very forgiving and help to make it easier to control a snowboard at slower speeds.
They’re also really comfortable, which helps to keep you out on the hill for longer – and just cause, who wants uncomfortable feet!?
They're also a great option for those who see themselves getting into freestyle/park riding.

WOMEN'S BEGINNER BOOT #4
Boots: Burton Mint
Price: $199
Lacing System: Speed Lacing
Flex: Medium-Soft (3 out of 10)
Rating: 89.8/100
In at #4, are the Burton Mint boots.
Featuring a nice soft-medium flex for an easy and forgiving ride, perfect for the beginner, the Mint’s pack a heap of performance into a really reasonable price tag.
The Mint’s also come in a Boa version. If Boa is more your thing, then that’s an option too. I have included their score below too.

WOMEN'S BEGINNER BOOT #3
Boots: K2 Haven
Price: $209
Lacing System: Single Boa
Flex: Medium-Soft (4/10)
Rating: 90.9/100
K2’s Haven boots are ideal for anyone starting out snowboarding. Reasonably priced, soft, forgiving, really comfortable and super easy to get in and out of
And that single boa system is not only fast and easy to get in and out of – it also makes it really easy to get the boots tight enough. A great choice for anyone who struggles to get traditional lacing or speed lacing tight enough.
They're also a great freestyle boot - so for those looking to get into riding freestyle/park once they're more advanced, these boots are a great investment.

WOMEN'S BEGINNER BOOT #2
Boots: Vans Women’s Hi-Standard OG
Price: $189
Lacing System: Traditional Lacing
Flex: Medium-Soft (3/10)
Rating: 90.9/100
The #2 boots for this list are Vans' Women's Hi-Standard OG.
These boots are super comfortable and have the ideal flex for beginners that make them super-forgiving, easy to learn with but are still of decent quality.
They’re the only traditional laced boot on this list, so if you have trouble with getting traditional laces tight enough they may not be the ideal pick for you – but otherwise they are about the perfect boot for beginners.
Traditional laces do offer a lot of adjustability to get a really personalized fit though - so there's a trade off.
And they look pretty darn good too (IMO).

WOMEN'S BEGINNER BOOT #1
Boot: Thirty Two Shifty Boa Women's
Price: $169
Lacing System: Single Boa
Flex: Soft (2/10)
Rating: 92.0/100
And finally, in at #1, we have the Women's Shifty Boa (there's also a men's version)
If you're looking for one of the softest, easy going boots on the market, then the Shifty Boas are a great option. And that softness makes these boots super forgiving.
Biggest downside with a Single Boa is that you don't have the ability to independently adjust the upper and lower sections of the boot - but if they fit well without that adjustability, then it's no problem. And they are very easy to work with.
Then you've otherwise got a very comfortable, low cost (the cheapest in this list) boot that's nice and easy to get in and out of.

Women’s Beginner Boot #2: Thirty Two Women’s Lashed Double Boa
Boots: Thirty Two Women’s Lashed Double Boa
Price: $269
Lacing System: Double Boa
Flex: Medium-Soft (4.5/10)
Rating: 90.8/100
Coming in #2 are another pair of Thirty Two boots – this time the Women’s Lashed Double Boa.
This season they’ve been upgraded to double boa (from single boa in previous season’s). This allows you to get greater adjustability between the lower and upper sections of the boot, when compared to a single boa boot.
These suckers are super comfortable and have really good beginner specs across the board. They’re slightly stiffer than the rest of the boots on this list – so they’re really good for either riders that aren’t complete beginners, beginner’s who carry a bit more weight and beginners who are quite athletic.
These are also great all-round boots that will take you well beyond the beginner phase. They’re a little pricier than the other boots on this list but a good investment if your budget can allow it.
The Lashed Women’s boots come in 2 different versions – A Traditional Lacing version, and a Double Boa version. Each version has different strengths and weaknesses because of the different lacing systems – you can see the breakdown of each score below.

Rating: 92.0/100
And finally, in at #1, we have the Vans Hi-Standard.

Women’s Beginner Boot #5: Burton Coco
Boots: Burton Coco
Price: $149
Lacing System: Traditional Lacing
Flex: Soft (2 out of 10 on Burton’s scale)
Rating Score: 86.5/100
The Coco’s are the cheapest boots on this list – but that is certainly not the only reason they are really great as beginner boots.
They are also really comfortable, soft and forgiving, have plenty of shock absorption to make them even more lush and comfortable and are really adjustable so that you can get the perfect fit.
They may not be the fastest to get on and off but this is a sacrifice worth making for a boot at such a good price that will be awesome for helping you to progress as a beginner.

Women’s Beginner Boot #4: Thirty Two Women’s STW BOA
Boots: Thirty Two Women’s STW BOA
Price: $199
Lacing System: Single Boa
Flex: Medium-Soft
Rating: 87.1/100
In at #4 are 32’s Women’s STW Boa boots.
As the name suggests these boots use a Boa system to get in and out. This is super easy and fast to do – and if you have trouble getting boots as tight as you like, then using a boa system will make it easier to crank them down nice and tight.
I would like to see them use a double boa system so that you could adjust the upper and lower section of the boot independently – but that’s about the only complaint with these boots (and that would up the price too).
The Women’s STW Boa are also really comfortable, have great heel hold (so your heel shouldn’t lift too much inside the boot) and they have a nice medium-soft flex for a nice forgiving ride – perfect for the beginner.

Boots: Thirty Two Women’s Lashed
Price: $249
Lacing System: Speed Lacing
Flex: Medium-Soft
Rating: 88.8/100
Coming in #3 are another pair of Thirty Two boots – this time the Women’s Lashed.
These suckers are super comfortable and have really good beginner specs across the board. There are no real weaknesses here for the beginner rider – just good consistent performance with heaps of comfort.
These are also great all round boots that will take you well beyond the beginner phase. There’ll a little pricier than the other boots on this list but a good investment if your budget can allow it.
The Lashed boots come in 3 different versions – A Traditional Lacing version, a Speed Lacing version (Lashed FT – $249) and a Boa version (Lashed Boa – $259). Each version have different strengths and weaknesses because of the different lacing systems – you can see the breakdown of each score below.

Women’s Beginner Boot #2: Vans Women’s Encore
Boots: Vans Women’s Encore
Price: $199
Lacing System: Single Boa
Flex: Medium-Soft
Rating: 91.0/100
In the #2 spot, we have the Vans Women’s Encore.
Testament to these boots, they also made my list of the top 5 women’s freestyle boots. Freestyle boots do tend to double as beginner boots a lot of the time due to also favoring a softer flex. The Women’s Encore would do equally as well as freestyle boots as they do as beginner boots.
They have a nice medium-soft flex that is forgiving enough for the beginner rider but there is still enough stiffness and response for these to take you through to a more intermediate or advanced level.
They might lack a little bit in adjustability and I’d ultimately like to see them with a double boa system but they have great heel hold, shock absorption and come with a really reasonable price tag (which would go up with a double boa system).
And above all that these boots are super comfortable.
