So, there’s Rome’s snowboards for the upcoming 2018-19 season.
A few changes from the 2017-18 season but keeping things mostly the same all round.
Rome isn’t a brand I was able to test for this season unfortunately, so I won’t be releasing any reviews for them, but I hope to get on some Rome gear in the winter/spring for the 2019-20 season. For all snowboarding profiles reviews, check out the link below.

Nate,
Thanks for the feedback. I always overthink this stuff, so I gotta ask for some more help. My daughter is a very good/confident all mountain rider, but the park stuff will be new. I’m thinking I should just get a dedicated park board that is solid for jumps but soft enough to butter and jib well. I think her goal will be confidence on basic rails, butters, and maybe up to 360 on jumps. Bataleaon She W or Distortia sound good, especially with the 3BT profile. The GNU Ladies Choice seems to get a lot of good reviews (along with the similar Roxy XOXO) and then there is the Arbor Swoon camber, which seems more all mountain. Should I look at any others so I can confuse myself even more?! And I’m still thinking 141-144 is the sweet spot for park. Thanks again for your help.

Hi Tibor
I don’t deal with Bataleon boards but I would say that the She W would be good, based on specs, if you’re looking for a dedicated park board and the Distortia if you’re looking more for all-mountain-freestyle.
The GNU Ladies Choice would be a great choice (no pun intended) for what you’re describing, IMO. A good balance between something that she can learn on in the park but still ride the rest of the mountain on, but more park oriented than all-mountain.
The Swoon Camber is probably more leaning towards all-mountain, though I would still say it’s all-mountain-freestyle. Would be great for jumps in the park but not as good for jibs and buttering as the Ladies Choice. Relatively aggressive but not as aggressive as the Heist.
And I agree, for the park something in that 141-144 range would be a good way to go, especially if you go for a dedicated park board.

Hi Nate, Great job with your site. I love the detailed insight you give about sizing, which is really helpful to people like me who don’t snowboard daily. I had a specific question about sizing a Rome Heist for my daughter. She is 5′ 4.5″ and weighs 130-135. The board will serve as freestyle/all mountain board. She will ride the mountain more, but I want the board to be easy to throw around in the park or on the mountain. Based on the rather beefy proportions of the board, I was thinking a 142 cm especially since she wants to work on basic park skills. Am I right or should I get the 146? Thanks again for brining such insight to ignorant folk like myself.
Nate says
Hi Tibor
Thanks for your message.
The Heist is quite an aggressive board (relatively stiff and plenty of camber) but assuming your daughter is a relatively advanced rider, then it would be a good choice an all mountain freestyle option.
And assuming that she is relatively advanced then I’d say that the 146 would be the best length for her, overall. However, if she is just starting out in the park, then the 142 would be a better option, given the aggressiveness of the board. So, I’d say that the 146 would be better over the rest of the mountain, but the 142 would be a better option for riding the park, particularly if she is just starting out in the park.
There are also likely easier options to start out with in the park – and something around a 144, 145 that isn’t as aggressive, but if she is set on the Heist, then the 142 would certainly be easier to throw around and easier for working on park skills than the 146 for sure.
Hope this helps
