Who is the Paradise Most Suited To?
The Paradise is best suited to either:
a. a more casual rider who doesn't like to ride too fast and likes a more playful, easy to ride feel and good if you also like throwing in some freestyle tricks or some tree adventures.
b. someone looking to progress out of the beginner phase. This is the kind of board that's easy to ride but has more performance and can take you further through your progression than a purely beginner board.
Not for a first day beginner, but higher end beginners and up should be fine riding this board.
2025 model a little more technical to ride. Still fine for intermediate riders but not as suitable for higher beginners as previously. A little less playful but a little better for speed, carving and crud.
Paradise DetailS
O.k. let’s take a more detailed look at what the Paradise is capable of.
Demo Info
Board: Capita Paradise 2024, 145 (235mm waist width)
Date: March 20, 2023
Conditions
Overcast to start. But higher cloud. 85-90% visibility. Towards the end of the day there was some rain.
Temperature was around 2°C (36°F) - and -2°C (19°F) with wind chill in morning and 1°C (34°F) (and -2°C (19°F) with wind) in the afternoon. SE winds morning and afternoon at 10kph (6 mph) morning and 5kph (3 mph) in the afternoon.
24 hour snow: 0" (0cm)
48 hour snow: 0" (0cm)
7 day snow: 4" (11cm)
On groomer: Soft packed and bordering on slushy. But not ultra slow or sticky or anything. Got a touch slushier towards the end of the day, but not by much. Was pretty consistent.
Off groomer: Decent enough. Borderline slushy but not quite. Not ideal but OK.

* based on just over 40 women's boards that I've weighed in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 & 2024 models. The Paradise was a little heavier than average on the scales but felt a little lighter than average on snow.
Tester: Meira
Rider Height: 5'4 (163cm)

Rider Boot Size: US Women's 8 (Burton Limelite)
Bindings Used: Union Milan
Powder
Nothing to test in on the day, but based on specs and feel, the Paradise should have decent powder float. There is tip/tail rocker and a little bit of setback, which will help with float.
Carving
I felt the board washed out quite easily on a carve with any kind of decent speed under it. Hard to hold short carves, easier to hold long carves.
2025 model a little better at holding onto carves.
Turning
Ease of Turning/Slashing: Easy to initiate turns with, Easy to turn at slower speeds, but harder to control turns when riding faster. Board feels a bit unstable in turns with speed. 2025 model not quite as easy to turn.
Maneuverability at slow speeds: Very nimble at slow speeds. Quick edge-to-edge. Easy to do short and sharp turns at slow speeds. 2025 model not quite as quick edge-to-edge.
Catchiness: Very little catch overall. In spins, turns, riding switch I felt confident in having fun with the board without worrying about catching an edge. 2025 model a touch more catchy.
Speed
This is not a super fast board. It feels unstable at speed and there's a lot of chatter and shake when going fast. 2025 model is a little more stable at speed.
Uneven Terrain
Crud/Chunder: Over crud and rougher terrain the board gets thrown around a lot, which makes for an unstable ride over rougher terrain. And you feel the chatter with everything. It is a nimble board though, so you can correct your line easily, you've just got to correct it a lot. 2025 model a little better in crud.
Trees/Bumps: Easy to roll over and bumps and rollers. Slightly unstable through bumps at speed. Quick edge-to-edge for weaving between obstacles. 2025 model not quite as good for trees/bumps.
Jumps
Overall enjoyed jumping with this board. 2025 model not quite as good for jumps.
Pop: Very easy to pop and a good amount of total pop, without being epic total pop. Very fun to pop over jumps and rollers.
Approach: Nice stable feeling coming up to a smaller jump but can get wobbly for faster approaches. Able to speed check and readjust on approach easily.
Landing: Felt stable on landings from smaller jumps. Able to stomp landing with confidence on those. The board was also very forgiving of rough landings and easy to correct after landing.
Side-hits: Easy access to pop over side hits. Ease in approach and readjustment.
Small jumps/Big jumps: Best for small to medium jumps. Not as good for bigger jumps.
Switch
Transitions to and from switch were smooth. Like when riding in your normal direction, switch feels washy when picking up too much speed.
Spins
Nice and easy to spin. Very little to no catchy feeling when setting up and landing. 2025 model not quite as good for spins.
Jibbing
Approach is stable and nimble coming up to jibs. Pop on and off is very solid. Stable dismount. The board gave me confidence on park features. 2025 model not quite as good for jibs.
Butters
Same feeling pressing nose and tail. Good locked in feeling for nose and tail presses , can hold a butter on nose and tail. Slightly easier on tail. Medium flex when pressing. 2025 model felt about the same for butters.

BUTTERS | 4.0 | 4/5 |
JIBBING | 3.0 | 3/5 |
TOTAL after normalizing | 82.5/100 |
The Paradise is a playful board that is fun to ride at slow speeds. When slow, it's nimble, buttery and is very fun for sidehits and smaller jumps and spins. It also works well tackling jibs. For riding trees and slower groomers it's also a lot of fun.
It's not as good when you're wanting to ride fast though or on very bumpy terrain. It's quite chattery and gets wobbly when getting up to moderately fast speeds.
Overall the 2025 model is a little better for carving and a little more stable at speed but a little less good for quick maneuvering at slower speeds.
Capita Paradise 2020-2023
Hello and welcome to my Capita Paradise review.
In this review, I will take a look at the Paradise as an all-mountain-freestyle snowboard.
As per tradition here at SnowboardingProfiles.com I will give the Paradise a score out of 100 (based on several factors) and see how it compares with other all-mountain-freestyle snowboards.

NOTE: This review is only updated to the 2022 model. We have changed this board’s category and waiting to retest it before we update for the latest model. The changes for the 2023 model don’t appear to be too significant, so most of this review likely still applies, but as we have moved the category now to all-mountain, we want to re-test it before updating.

Who is the Paradise Most Suited To?
The Paradise is best suited to anyone who likes to ride the resort and the park - and for anyone who likes to ride the resort like a park. You can also just use this board as a resort cruiser, if you don't ride freestyle - great for just doing that too.
Not really suited for deep powder, but perfectly good for taking off groomer and in shallower powder - Ashly said she had a lot of fun in the trees on this board.
Whilst not strictly a beginner board, is good for high level beginners, looking to progress to a more intermediate level. It's the perfect board for that high-end beginner to low level intermediate looking to progress.
The Paradise in More Detail
O.k. let’s take a more detailed look at what the Paradise is capable of.
Demo Info
Board: Capita Paradise 2020, 149cm (239mm waist width)
Date: April 14, 2019
Conditions: Great vis first thing but started closing in and then snowing 10:30. Then on and off throughout the day. But vis was never terrible – in patches good and in patches OK.
Groomers were quite smooth and fast, especially compared to the day before, which was nice.
Nothing crazy in terms of fresh snow, but 1cm (0.5") overnight and few more than that in the days leading up - some fresh patches still to be found.
Relatively cold with a little wind, but not much - wind not as strong and not quite as cold as the day before. -4 with wind. Still pretty cold for April 14th!

Bindings angles: +15/-12
Stance width: 490mm (19.3″) - reference is 530mm (20.9")
Stance Setback: Centered
Width at Inserts: 246mm (9.69") - Ashly rode a little narrower than the reference stance - at reference stance the width is likely to be around 248mm (9.76") - based on measuring the 147 version of this board earlier.
Weight: 2340g (5lbs, 2oz)
Weight per cm: 15.92g/cm
Average Weight per cm: 16.48 grams/cm*
*based on a very small sample size of 8 boards that I weighed.
Rider Height: 5"6" (168cm)
Rider Weight: 130lbs (59kg)
Rider Boot Size: Women's US8.5 Ride Hera
Bindings Used: NOW Vetta, Small
Flex
Ashly felt that it was softer in hand than her own board (GNU Gloss) but when she got it on snow it was a stiffer feel. But still not more than medium - 5/10, maybe even bordering on a little softer - like 4.5/10.
Powder
Nothing really deep lurking around, but there was a bit of shallow fresh. And Ashly felt that the Paradise felt pretty good in there.
Based on specs, the Paradise isn't going to be a an awesome deck in deeper powder. But for an all-mountain-freestyle board it's a little better than average - with slightly longer nose and tail than you'd usually find - and the rocker tip and tail helps too. It's a really good option for those that like to ride a lot of switch in powder.
Carving & Turning
Carving: Not a super deep/aggressive carver, but you can get a carve in on this board.
Maneuverability at slow speeds: Nice and agile at slow speeds. Good for trees and approaches to side-hits - and those still learning to turn and still riding slowly or those that just like to cruise.
Smooth or snappy: Ashly described the Paradise as having a controlled and smooth feeling turn.
Speed
Ashly felt that the Paradise was a little more stable at speed vs the Gloss. Not by a massive amount, but just that little bit more.
Uneven Terrain
Ashly described the Paradise as being effortless in bumpy terrain as well as crud.
Jumps
Overall the kind of board that's really fun for jumps of pretty much all sizes.
Pop: Really good pop, without being epic - but that pop was nice and easy to access.
Approach: Nice and nimble for trickier side-hit approaches, but at the same time stable enough at speed for faster approaches to larger jumps.
Landing: Solid landing platform without being an absolute stomper for bigger jumps
Side-hits: Really, really good for side-hits. Easy to spin, nice and light, easy to access pop and nice and agile.
Small jumps: Almost ideal for small to medium jumps. And a great option for those who are just learning their jumps too, and who want to progress beyond just the small jumps.
Big jumps: Not quite as good for big jumps, but still doable. But medium jumps are probably it's sweet spot.
Switch
It's a true twin, so basically the same going either direction.
Spins
Ashly found the paradise was easy to get spins around on. And that's not surprising given that it's light, easy to extract pop from and the torsional flex isn't too stiff.
Jibbing
Good for jibs without being the ideal jibber.
Butters
Not the softest, most buttery board ever, but better than the average board to butter on.
Score Breakdown and Final Verdict
Check out the breakdown of the score in the table below.
RATING | SCORE WEIGHTING | |
---|---|---|
JUMPS | 4.0 | 16/20 |
SWITCH | 4.0 | 8/10 |
JIBBING | 3.5 | 7/10 |
CARVING | 3.5 | 7/10 |
POWDER | 3.0 | 6/10 |
SPEED | 3.5 | 7/10 |
UNEVEN TERRAIN | 4.0 | 8/10 |
SPINS | 4.0 | 8/10 |
BUTTERS | 4.0 | 4/5 |
PIPE | 3.5 | 3.5/5 |
TOTAL after normalizing | 85.6/100 |
Overall, the Paradise is a nice and versatile all-mountain-freestyle ride that is just about perfect for those at that high-end beginner to low-end intermediate phase that want something that will still be good for them, when they're more advanced.
Whether you want to mix it up between the groomers, trees and park, ride the whole resort like a park or just cruise, this board fits all that criteria.
