Nidecker Venus Snowboard Review

Nidecker Venus Snowboard Review 2025-2026

Last Updated January 26, 2026 by Nate 4 Comments

The Nidecker Venus is pretty much the epitome of do-it-all. It doesn't have any areas that it particularly stands out in, but it also doesn't have any areas that it has particular trouble with and its nice and lightweight.

In other words, it's super versatile and would work really well as a one-board-quiver for eclectic riders.

In this review, I will take a look at the Venus as an all-mountain snowboard, which we define as the do-it-all swiss-army knives of boards.

As per tradition here at SnowboardingProfiles.com I will give the Venus a score out of 100 (based on several factors) and see how it compares with other women's all-mountain snowboards.

Who is the Venus Most Suited To?

The Venus is best suited to riders who want to do a bit of everything, but nothing to the extremes, and want just one board to do it on.

So, for most, it would be a one-board-quiver. But it could also compliment a quiver as a daily driver and pair with a more freestyle board and/or a more powder oriented board and/or a more aggressive all-mountain or freeride board.

It's pretty easy going but I wouldn't recommend it for beginners.

    *based on a sample size of 300+ models that I’ve weighed in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025 models.

    Turning

Ease of Turning/Slashing: I felt like it was easier to initiate turns at higher speeds but nothing that was too much trouble at lower speeds. Nice control with slash turns though.

Maneuverability at slow speeds: Without being lightning quick edge-to-edge, it was still quite agile.

Catchiness: It didn't feel very catchy - had nice smooth transitions and felt very easy to spin and mess around without worrying about getting slammed from catching an edge.

    Carving

Solid edge hold through carves and felt best at moderate speed carves. Got a bit washy at high speed carves, but it's carving speed ceiling wasn't too low.

    Speed

Again, while not being a real bomber, it had stayed stable up to reasonable speeds, but did have its limits.

    Uneven Terrain

Crud/Chunder: It sits around the average here. If you're trying to really smash through it, it can get thrown around. But has some resilience to holding steady if it's nothing too dire and you're not hitting it too fast.

Trees/Bumps: Again really decent. Decent agility and should be pretty good in powder.

    Powder

Speaking of powder :-). We didn't have powder to test in on the day, but based on feel and specs, I'd say that this wouldn't be your go to for an epic pow backcountry day or anything, but it should hold up pretty well and not be too hard work in powder.

    Jumps

Pop: Good amount of pop and pretty easy to access too. And it felt really light, so I felt like I got good value for my efforts.

Approach: A pretty good mix between speed and agility without being amazing at either.

Landing:  Felt good on a good landing and pretty forgiving for skewed landings, but I fond that it was pretty easy to over-flex the tail on tail heavy landings, which made them hard to control.

    Switch

Transitions in and out of switch were smooth. Riding switch was slightly harder to control than riding nose first, even taking into account not being as technically sound riding in the switch direction.

    Spins

The lightness and easy pop were good and not bad for setting up and landing. Not as good for landing and riding out switch. I found I wasn't super comfortable with that on this board. Some over-spin after landing, but nothing bad and while not too difficult to finish a spin after landing, it also wasn't catch-free.

    Jibbing

It was OK, but nothing that was super inspiring for hitting jib features.

    Butters

Surprisingly soft in the nose and tail compared to the overall flex. This made it easy to press the nose and tail, but I found it hard to get it to lock in and to control and felt like I could even over flex it if I wasn't careful. Rotations were pretty good.

My overall impression of the Nidecker Venus is a solid all mountain board that didn't really excel in anything in particular, but was solid across a lot of different things. Its light construction doesn't make it great for the hard charging riders out there. But it does make for a nice physically forgiving ride that I felt I could ride all day with little fatigue.

It's the kind of board for those riders who like to really mix it up when they ride, but they don't want or can't afford more than one board in their quiver.

Hi Tim, thanks for your message.

        I would say:

        – Rival better for jumps, butters, switch, spins – all round better for freestyle stuff
        – Venus not quite as good for icy conditions, but still real decent
        – Similar in terms of speed/stability at speed, similar for carving
        – Venus a little better for powder

        Hope this helps

TYSM – Merry Christmas – looked both, went with the Rival, she loves it so much more than the past few boards she grew up on (Burton kids, Rossi, Yes kids board).
