Who is the Heritage Most Suited To?

The Heritage is a great option for those who are looking for something stiffer, but want a forgiving, just on the looser side, feeling camber profile. That might be someone with a bit more weight who tend to over flex a softer flexing board. 

And someone looking for a board that does a bit of everything, something versatile. 

Not for beginners, too stiff for that, but high end intermediate rider's should be fine with it or bigger high-end beginners to low-end intermediate riders.

Damp or Chattery? 

Really quite damp feeling. A good way up the scale on the damp side. 

Smooth or Snappy? 

Definitely more smooth than snappy. 

Powder

Didn't feel exciting in powder, but was decent.

And the specs also back up that it can handle powder pretty well without being a real powder hound.  

Carving & Turning

Carving: Solid on a carve. Smooth carver, rather than a snappy, energetic carver. No real X factor. 

Maneuverability at slow speeds: Not terrible but not overly agile either. 

Skidded Turns: Not too bad to skid turns on, but not super easy either. 

Speed

Pretty good at speed. It's got the flex for it. That looser feeling camber profile stops it from being an out and out bomber, but all round pretty good. 

Uneven Terrain

Good but not amazing. Holds it's on but feels like it sits somewhere in between being that agile, nimble kind of board in uneven terrain, that you can nip around on and correct your course easily when you get bucked around a bit and the other end of the scale the kind of board you can just over power crud and just crush through it on.

Jumps

Just lacked a bit of liveliness for jumps for me, overall. 

Pop: Not too much pop, not a lot of spring/life in it

Approach: Pretty stable and nimble enough, but without being super nimble or super stable. 

Landing: Not a stomper but solid enough.  

Side-hits: Nothing terrible but nothing special. 

Small jumps/Big jumps: Medium to large straight airs.

Switch

Very doable. Not ideal, but pretty good. 

Spins

Wasn't the easiest to get the spin around - lacked spring and felt a little heavy. OK without being great for setting up/landing switch. 

Jibbing

Not great for setups and no life popping on and off jibs either. 

Butters

There's some butterability there, but it takes a bit of effort. Not hard to butter, but not easy. Middle of the road. 

Middle of the road. Nothing bad about it but nothing exciting either. Felt like an old school "normal" board

There’s nothing bad about this board, but it’s just a little dull. I feel like it should either have more camber – like throw the ripsaw camber on it or even the new shock wave camber and make it more of an aggressive all-mountain board. It’s flex would suit that better. Or go back to the West – and have it more of a mid-flexing board with the ripsaw rocker. I feel that original rocker camber works well on the Snowtrooper, with that softer flex and just then being an all-round forgiving, playful all-mountain ride, but the Heritage kind of falls a little in no man’s land for me.
