In this review I will take a look at the Lashed as all-mountain snowboard boots.

As per tradition here at SnowboardingProfiles.com I will give the Lashed a score out of 100 (based on several factors) and see how they compare with other women's all-mountain boots.

Who are the Women's Lashed Most Suited to?

The Lashed are best suited to someone looking for a mid-flexing boot that is a little cheaper than the average price of boots in this flex-range and want traditional lacing - whether for the adjustability or the looks or are just fine with it to get the better price.

They are best matched to boards in the 4/10 to 6/10 flex range.

Not for beginners but intermediates should be fine with them.

* The average weight of a sample of  women's boots I've weighed was 1lbs 15oz (883g). The heaviest I've weighed were 2lbs 10oz (1200g) and lightest were 1lb 7oz (640g). 

Foot to Boot Fit

Length Fit:

When it comes to the length, the Lashed felt perfect for me! One thing to keep in mind, though, is that I sized a half size up from my typical size 8. From my past experiences with ThirtyTwo, this felt like the better choice. If length were the only component of a good fit, I would have said the ½ size jump was ideal.

Width Fit:

This is where I started to question whether the ½ size up was the right move. Width wise- the Lashed were pretty spacious. I wasn’t swimming initially, but the extra room was apparent from the beginning. By the end of the day, I knew they were too roomy. After more break-in time, I think these would have been way too wide for my foot.

In-Step:

When I first slid into these boots, I thought the in-step might be just a touch snug. I didn’t feel pressure there, but it certainly wasn’t roomy. By the time I hit the slopes, this thought disappeared entirely. I had plenty of room through the in-step, which may have been a result of the extra width.

Around Ankles:

I won’t sugarcoat it- the ankle area was loose. I could feel my heels lifting walking around, so naturally, I was pretty nervous about how they were going to perform. This was actually way less noticeable riding than hanging in the lift line, but still, the sensation of extra space was there.

True to Size?: 

Based on my experience, I would say yes, though maybe a little wider than average. I wore an 8.5 when I would normally wear an 8, and by the end of the day, it felt a little too big. Honestly, the length still felt pretty good, but the space in the rest of the boot, particularly around the ankles, told me this wasn’t quite right.

I think if I had tried the 8 out, the length would have felt a little short for me, but it would have molded out well after a few days. This boot is probably going to be spot on for someone who is okay with a boot that feels pretty dang tight out of the box, but conforms really well with ride time.

Boot to Binding Fit

These sat pretty nicely in the binding. They felt great in the heel cup. The ankle area was surprisingly bulky- I had to extend the strap 3 holes from my daily drivers, which felt like a lot. Especially because I didn’t need to adjust the toe strap at all.

Carving

I felt like I lost a lot of my ability to carve hard when I was wearing the Lashed. I think this could have been from sizing up slightly because I didn’t feel I had the control needed to really get up on an edge. They felt stiff enough to handle it, but with the extra space around my foot, they felt way less stable than I’m used to.

Slow Speed Response

They handled pretty well at slower speeds. For a stiffer boot, they’re pretty agile. They are super padded though, which is great for comfort, but not so great for board feel. I didn’t feel super stable at slow speeds either because of it.

Heel Hold

The heel hold left a lot to be desired. Considering how loose they felt in the heel walking around, I expected it to be worse than it was. I had very little heel lift, but the side-to-side was loose enough that I didn’t feel locked in.

Adjustability

Pretty average. Pulley on the inside paired with tried-and-true laces on the outside. Laces are inherently pretty adjustable, but really no stand-out features here.

Comfort

Okay, so I know I’ve been a little tough on the Lashed, but one thing they definitely have going for them is how comfortable they are. They were super plush, and if I had liked the fit of this boot for my foot more, I would have been really happy with them. For the right foot, these could be a great all-day ripper.

Shock Absorption

I was really impressed with the shock-absorbing qualities of this boot! Great dampening and chatter reduction, which made for a super smooth on-snow feel.

Board Feel

The board feel was definitely lacking. All that extra padding and shock control took away from the direct boot-to-board feel a bit which isn’t ideal for a stiffer boot meant for carving hard lines.

Entry/Exit

Liner:

Pretty easy in and out with a classic pulley system on the liner.

Outer boot:

Laces are always easy! I will say, if I had gone with my normal size 8, getting these boots on and off might have involved a little bit more work until they were broken in. With the roomy 8.5, it was effortless.

Score Breakdown and Final Verdict

The Women's Lashed are a well priced boot for this category and this level of stiffness. Without concern to price, these wouldn't be my first choice, particularly for the heel hold issues (though those may, at least to some extent sort themselves out in the smaller size, but I would be concerned they'd be too short length-wise). 

But also because I wanted more out of them for carving, particularly if the slow speed response wasn't going to feel better. Again, better heel hold would likely improve those aspects as well. 

Otherwise they are a solid choice all-round, particularly for the price.
