WOMEN'S ALL-MOUNTAIN-FREESTYLE BOARD #5
Board: Niche Nightshade
- US
- CA
Flex: Medium (5.5/10)
Rating: 87.6/100
*HARD/ICY SNOW OPTION
Starting off the list at #5, we have the Niche Nightshade.
The Nightshade is the most aggressive in this list (along with the Talent Scout at #2), and if I had a separate women's aggressive all-mountain-freestyle list that's where I would put this board. It's mostly camber, but just a little more forgiving than traditional camber.
But more importantly this board rips! It's awesome for carving and at speed, but then when you hit the jump line in the park or natural hits, it's even better there.
Not really one for powder and less suitable for jibbing than some others on this list, but apart from that it's a versatile and explosive, aggressive all-mountain-freestyle deck.

- US
- CA
- UK/EU
Flex: Medium (5/10)
Rating: 88.2/100
*HARD/ICY SNOW OPTION
In at #4 we have the Lib Tech No.43.
The No.43 is a great freestyle/park board, but also does well on the rest of the mountain - like a good all-mountain-freestyle board should.
A particularly good option if you often ride in hard/icy conditions and great if you like to also ride the pipe.

WOMEN'S ALL-MOUNTAIN-FREESTYLE BOARD #3
Board: Never Summer Women’s Proto Synthesis
- US
- CA
Flex: Medium (5/10)
Rating: 88.8/100
At #3, we have the Women’s Proto Synthesis by Never Summer.
Ever so slightly on the aggressive side of the playful/aggressive scale - but very close to right in the middle, the Proto Synthesis thrives when carving and can even bomb pretty well.
But when you get to side hits and jumps in the park, it really comes into its own, whether you want to just straight air it or throw down some rotations.
Just a really good all-round resort board that can treat the mountain like a park or treat the mountain like a mountain.

Board: Burton Talent Scout
- US
- CA
- UK/EU
Flex: Medium (5.5/10)
Rating: 89.3/100
Coming at #2, we have Burton's Talent Scout.
The most aggressive on this list, the Talent Scout features a traditional camber profile. But because it's not overly stiff, it's not quite as demanding as other more aggressive boards. It gives it enough forgiveness that it's not too fatiguing a ride.
But when you want to rip carves or bomb down the slope, it's got you covered.
And this thing is a beast when it comes to jumps and side-hits. Poppy, explosive super stable on approach and stomps landings.

- UK

Rating: 91.0/100
- HARD/ICY SNOW OPTION
And finally, in the #1 spot, we have the GNU Ladies Choice.
With the Proto Synthesis not retaining the asymmetry that it's predecessor (the Proto Type Two) had, the Ladies Choice is now the only board on this list to feature asymmetry, which can really help you to lock in those heel side carves/turns - and makes switch riding feel really natural.
A great option for more advanced park riders or intermediate and up all-mountain-freestyle riders. This board excels for jumps, spins and riding switch, but outside of that it's consistent across all categories for a nice versatile and super fun ride.

The Ryme is one of the most aggressive ride on this list, along with the Nightshade (see #3 below).

At #2, we have the Women’s Proto Synthesis by Never Summer.
The Proto Synthesis was new for 2021 and is now in it's second year for the 2022 model. It carries on the legacy from the Proto Type Two.
Overall it keeps everything that was good about the Type Two but is a slightly more aggressive feeling ride - without being ultra-aggressive or anything.

I looked at a number of boards and of those boards are the following stats – just to give you some perspective on the scores in the top 5 below.

WOMEN'S ALL-MOUNTAIN-FREESTYLE BOARD #5=
Board: Salomon Rumble Fish
Price: $499
Flex: Medium (5/10)
Rating: 86.0/100
Starting off our list in #5, is the Salomon Rumble Fish.
The Rumble Fish is a very versatile board that is equally at home on groomers or in the park. So, if you like to ride the whole resort and you have a variety in your style, the Rumble Fish is a great all-rounder that can help you to make the most of everyday in the resort.
And the changes for the 2021 model have made it a better board in powder now too, so even more versatile than it was.
Even though the total score below ends up being the same as last year, that's just a coincidence - randomly the scores increased in some areas and decreased in others, and it evened out to the same score, but just with some slightly different strengths and weaknesses.

Flex: Medium (5/10)
Rating: 86.0/100
The Capita Paradise is about as versatile as they come. It can really do everything – it’s even pretty good in powder compared to most all-mountain-freestyle rides – particularly so if you like to ride switch in powder.
Basically no weaknesses here, if you’re looking for that versatile board that can handle anything and everything well.
Plus, it’s the lowest priced board on this list – so if you’re on a budget but don’t want to sacrifice performance and everything else screams yes about this board, then you’re onto a winner here.

It keeps the same core personality of the Type Two, but with some changes - the main one being a more camber dominant camber profile - that plus it's no longer asym as the 2020 model was.
It's only real weakness in powder, but it can ride there, of course, just that it would be a bit of effort keeping the nose afloat if you were going into deep powder. So, you could say it's a do-it-all board for within the resort boundaries.

WOMEN'S ALL-MOUNTAIN-FREESTYLE BOARD #5=
Board: Capita Paradise
Price: $399
Flex: Medium (5/10)
Rating: 86.0/100
The Capita Paradise is about as versatile as they come. It can really do everything – it’s even pretty good in powder compared to most all-mountain-freestyle rides – particularly so if you like to ride switch in powder.
Basically no weaknesses here, if you’re looking for that versatile board that can handle anything and everything well.
Plus, it’s the lowest priced board on this list – so if you’re on a budget but don’t want to sacrifice performance and everything else screams yes about this board, then you’re onto a winner here.

WOMEN'S ALL-MOUNTAIN-FREESTYLE BOARD #4
Board: Lib Tech No.43
Price: $549
Flex: Medium (5/10)
Rating: 86.5/100
- HARD/ICY SNOW OPTION
In at #4 we have the Lib Tech No.43.
The No.43 is new in Lib Tech's line this year, and is essentially the equivalent of the men's Lib Tech TRS. Previously Lib Tech had smaller sizes for some of their boards, but this year they've introduced a women's line and the No.43 is one of those.
Like the TRS, the No.43 is a great park board, but also does well on the rest of the mountain - like a good all-mountain-freestyle board should.
Not for a beginner, but certainly intermediate rider's and up, looking for an all-mountain-freestyle deck should really enjoy riding this thing.

WOMEN'S ALL-MOUNTAIN-FREESTYLE BOARD #3
Board: Niche Nightshade
Price: $499
Flex: Medium (5.5/10)
Rating: 87.6/100
- HARD/ICY SNOW OPTION
And the #3 spot goes to the the Niche Nightshade.
The Nightshade is new in Niche's line for 2020 and a great addition.
It's the most aggressive in this list, and if I had a separate women's aggressive all-mountain-freestyle list that's where I would put this board. It's mostly camber, but just a little more forgiving than traditional camber.
But more importantly this board rips! It's awesome for carving and at speed, but then when you hit the jump line in the park or natural hits, it's even better there.
Not really one for powder, but apart from that it's a versatile and explosive, aggressive all-mountain-freestyle deck.

WOMEN'S ALL-MOUNTAIN-FREESTYLE BOARD #2
Board: Never Summer Women’s Proto Type Two
Price: $519
Flex: Medium (5/10)
Rating: 87.6/100
At #2, we have the Women’s Proto Type Two by Never Summer.
The Proto Type Two is the the first of 2 boards on this list with an asymmetrical side cut making for a better feel on your heel edge – and making switch riding a joy.
That also helps with it’s carving, which it would already be pretty good at without the asymmetry. You can bomb on this board when you want to and you can slow it down and play around. It’s also a jump machine – with plenty of pop and nice and stable on landings.

WOMEN'S ALL-MOUNTAIN-FREESTYLE BOARD #1
Board: GNU Ladies Choice
Price: $569
Flex: Medium (5/10)
Rating: 90.4/100
- HARD/ICY SNOW OPTION
And finally, in the #1 spot, we have the GNU Ladies Choice.
Previously I had the Ladies Choice in the Freestyle category, but it's just too good an all-mountain-freestyle board to leave it out of this category again - and ultimately I decided it was better suited for here.
Like the PT2 above, the Ladies Choice features asymmetry, helping you to lock in those heel side carves/turns.
A great option for more advanced park riders or intermediate and up all-mountain-freestyle riders. This board excels for jumps, spins and riding switch, but outside of that it's consistent across categories for a nice versatile and super fun ride.

WOMEN'S ALL-MOUNTAIN-FREESTYLE BOARD #5

The Rumble Fish is a very versatile board that is equally at home on groomers or in the park. So, if you like to ride the whole resort and you have a variety in your style, the Rumble Fish is a great all-rounder that can help you to make the most of everyday in the resort.
It's only real weakness in powder, but it can ride there, of course, just that it would be a lot of effort keeping the nose afloat if you were going into deep powder in the backcountry. So, you could say it's a do-it-all board for within the resort boundaries.

WOMEN'S ALL-MOUNTAIN-FREESTYLE BOARD #4
Board: GNU B-Pro C3
Price: $549
Flex: Medium (6/10)
Rating: 83.1/100
- HARD/ICY SNOW OPTION
In at #4 we have the GNU B-Pro.
If I had a separate women's list for aggressive all-mountain freestyle boards, this would be in it. It's the most aggressive on this list in terms of camber profile and is also the stiffest board on this list.
If you like to carve up the mountain and really get those carves deep and low, but also want to find side-hits and do park laps (mostly for the jump line, not really a jibber), then the B-Pro might just be your option.
If all of that sounds like you and you also ride in hard/icy conditions a lot, then this might be your ultimate board.

WOMEN'S ALL-MOUNTAIN-FREESTYLE BOARD #3
Board: Roxy Torah Bright C2X
Price: $499
Flex: Medium
Rating: 86.5/100
- HARD/ICY SNOW OPTION
And the #3 spot goes to the Torah Bright (named of course after the Olympic Gold medalist Torah Bright).
Roxy’s Torah Bright is a board that you can chop and change between riding freestyle and laying down some hard carves.
It’s also the perfect board to take into the pipe – which shouldn’t be a surprise given Torah’s strongest discipline in Snowboarding is the half-pipe. If you like to ride the pipe this board should be your number 1 choice on this list. It’s also great in hard/icy snow if those are conditions that you tend to come across often.

Board: Never Summer Women’s Proto Type Two

Women’s All Mountain Freestyle Board #5
Board: Niche Sonnet
Price: $519
Flex: Medium (5/10)
Rating: 83.1/100
- Hard/Icy Snow Option
The Sonnet is the sister of Niche’s Aether and is a great all-round all-mountain-freestyle option.
It’s also the best option in this list (along with #3 below) for hard/icy snow conditions – so if you encounter those a lot and like to ride freestyle over the whole mountain, then the Sonnet is a great choice.

Women’s All Mountain Freestyle Board #4
Board: Capita Birds of a Feather
Price: $419
Flex: Medium-Soft (4/10)
Rating: 84.3/100
- Aggressive Option
The Birds of a Feather is the most aggressive board in this list and would be part of an aggressive all-mountain-freestyle list if I had one, even though it’s technically the softest flexing in this list. But in reality it’s more of a medium (5/10) when you get it on snow with it’s more aggressive camber profile.
The Birds of a Feather (like the men’s DOA) is loaded with pop, stable and lively. Not the most forgiving of skidded turns so you want to have your technique down before committing to this one – but if you like you’re riding aggressive but still want to ride freestyle over the whole mountain, this might be the board for you.
And if you want something similar with a bit more flex again, there’s also the Capita Jess Kimura Pro – which is kind of like a souped up version of this.

Rating: 93.3/100
Finally, at #1, we have the Women’s Proto Type Two by Never Summer. This board was a new comer last season – and was an instant all-mountain-freestyle classic.
The Proto Type Two is the only board on this list with an assymmetrical side cut making it feel more natural on your heel edge – and making switch riding a joy.
That also helps with it’s carving, which it would already be pretty good at without the asymmetry. You can bomb on this board when you want to and you can slow it down and play around. It’s also a jump machine – with plenty of pop and nice and stable on landings.

Women’s All Mountain Freestyle Board #5
Board: YES Emoticon
Price: $399
Flex: Medium-Soft
Rating: 84.4/100
The Yes Emoticons is a good all round board for riding switch, jumps and for jibbing. But it’s also got the ability to carve and take on the whole mountain – so you can ride freestyle wherever you want to go.
It’s the best jibber on the list, so if you like to incorporate a lap through the park to hit some jibs this might be a good choice for you.
The Emoticon is also the most affordable board on this list – so it’s a great choice for the budget conscious.

And the number 4 spot goes to the Torah Bright (named of course after the Olympic Gold medalist Torah Bright).
Roxy’s Torah Bright is a board that you can chop and change between riding freestyle and laying down some hard carves. It’s the best carver on this list (along with the #1).
It’s also the perfect board to take into the pipe – which shouldn’t be a surprise given Torah’s strongest discipline in Snowboarding is the half-pipe. If you like to ride the pipe this board should be your number 1 choice on this list.

Women’s All Mountain Freestyle Board #3
Board: Never Summer Onyx
Price: $469
Flex: Medium-Soft
Rating: 86.7/100
Our #3 board is the Never Summer Onyx.
If you want something that can really do it all then look no further. This board would rate well as a standalone freestyle board or a standalone all-mountain board. But it would be a waste in those categories as it’s so perfect in this one.
It’s one of the best jibbers on this list (and that’s no surprise as it’s also the softest flexing board on this list) so if you like to ride the park but also want a board that will enable you to ride freestyle everywhere else on the mountain then the Onyx is the ideal mix for that.

Women’s All Mountain Freestyle Board #2
Board: GNU Eco Choice by Jamie Anderson
Price: $579
Flex: Medium
Rating: 88.9/100
And in at #2 on the list, we have the GNU Eco Choice by Jamie Anderson.
If it’s got Jamie Anderson’s name on it it’s gotta be good right? In this case it definitely is. Modelled off the GNU Ladies Choice, the Eco Choice is just that little bit more eco friendly. Which is great. What’s also great is how this board rides.
With a true twin shape and asymmetrical side cut, this is the perfect switch rider and if you’re a lady who likes her jumps, then the Eco Choice will be your new best friend.

Women’s All Mountain Freestyle Board #1
Board: Never Summer Women’s Proto Type Two
Price: $499
Flex: Medium
Rating: 95.6/100
Finally, at #1, we have the Women’s Proto Type Two by Never Summer. This board is a new comer this season – and it’s straight away blown the competition out of the water.
Like the GNU Eco Choice at #2 above, the Proto Type Two has an assymmetrical side cut making it feel more natural on your heel edge – and making switch riding a joy. It’s also a jump machine like the Eco Choice.
Where the Ptoto Type Two wins out is that it’s a better carver and a faster board than the Eco Choice – and if you like to ride the pipe, then you’ve got the sweetest tool to do it on.

Buying Past Season Models
