Who is the All-In Most Suited To?

The All-In is best suited to anyone looking for a freeride board that isn't overly directional, not overly stiff and that is low cost.

Can handle everything the mountain has to offer, and is good in powder.

As it's heavier than a typical board, probably not the best suited to lighter riders.

Not beginner friendly, but should be fine for intermediate riders.

    The All-In in More Detail

O.k. let’s take a more detailed look at what the All-In is capable of.

    Demo Info

    Board: YES All-In 2024, 158 (255mm waist width)

    Date: April 12, 2023

    Conditions:

Plenty of sunshine and prefect visibility.

Temperature was around -3°C (27°F) - and -8°C (18°F) with wind chill. Though felt warmer than that. In the afternoon was -1°C (30°F) and the same with wind chill.

Morning wind 5kph (mph) northerly, afternoon also 5kph (3mph) but WSW.

    24hr snow: 5" (13cm)

    48hr snow: 6" (16cm)

    7 day snow: 32" (82cm)

On groomer: Choppy in a lot of spots, flat and smooth in others. Hard pack with some soft on top.

Off groomer: Freshies! Largely tracked but some good untouched spots too. Nice and soft and light poweder too.

    Set Up

    YES All In 2024 Review

Width at Inserts: 275mm (10.8") at front insert and 272mm (10.7") at back insert.

    Rider Height: 6'0"

    Rider Weight: 180lbs

Rider Boot Size: US9.5 Adidas Response ADV

    Bindings Used: Burton Malavita M

Control Board for Control Laps: Lib Tech Terrain Wrecker

    Weight: 3310grams (7lbs 5oz)

    Weight per cm: 20.95 grams/cm

Average Weight per cm: 18.71 grams/cm*

*based on a sample size of around 250 models that I’ve weighed in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 & 2024 models. The All-In was one of the heavier boards I've weighed and felt heavier on snow too, but probably not as heavy on snow as the actual weight would suggest.

    Powder

Despite it's heavier than normal feeling, the All-In felt good in powder. Not epic, but certainly better than the average board in pow.

It has some rocker in the nose and a little bit of taper, in addition to a longer nose than tail, which all helps.

    Carving

Was a really decent carver. Nothing super exciting or energetic, but solid and held an edge well.

    Turning

Ease of Turning/Slashing: Took a little more to initiate turns than I was expecting, but overall not too hard to turn or slash with.

Maneuverability at slow speeds: Decent enough. Not effortless or lightning quick edge-to-edge, but OK. It's wider than the average regular width board, which may have contributed to it not being super agile - and the weight may have also played a role in that.

Catchiness: Overall not overly catchy, but not completely catch-free either.

    Speed

Wasn't a super fast feeling board, but was decently stable at speed. That extra weight probably helped with it's stability.

    Uneven Terrain

Crud/Chunder: Again the extra weight helped here. It was pretty solid in chop and wasn't easily thrown around.

Trees/Bumps: It was not bad. That extra weight and width did affect how easy it was to weave between stuff though.

    Jumps

No complaints with this board and jumps, but also nothing exciting about it on jumps either.

Pop: Had to put in a bit of effort to access the pop. You didn't have to throw everything into it, but it wasn't super easy to access either. Total pop when really winding it up was average.

Approach: Stable - and easy enough to adjust, without being amazing for adjustments and speed checks.

Landing: Solid landings for sure. And given it's not overly setback, there's still plenty of tail to support tail heavy landings, when you don't quite get it right.

Side-hits: OK but nothing to write home about.

Small jumps/Big Jumps: Better for bigger jumps, with its solid landing platform and stability on approach.

    Switch

Felt good riding switch and transitions were good too. While it's a tapered board, it's taper is fairly subtle and it's overall setback on board isn't huge and it's centered on effective edge. So no surprise it was decent.

    Spins

Was OK, as it was decent setting up and landing switch. But quite heavy swing weight and lacking easy pop.

    Butters

The tip and tail are fairly easy to press. Not super easy but you don't have to muscle them too much to get them flexing and locked in.

    Score Breakdown and Final Verdict

Check out the breakdown of the score in the table below.

    TOTAL (after normalizing):90 81.6667 81.7 81.7/100
    WordPress Responsive Table

The All-In is not a board that I would rave about or got super excited about, but it's a solid ride and for the price (well under the average price for this style of board) it's good value for money. Personally I'd spend extra to get a better ride, but if you're on a tighter budget and want a middle of the road, decent ride, without breaking the bank, this could be a good choice for you.

There's nothing that it does badly but just feels pretty lackluster overall.
