O.k. let’s take a look at the top 5
WOMEN'S FREERIDE BOARD #5

Board: Jones Dream Catcher
Price: $479
Flex: Medium-Stiff (6/10)
Rating: 82.2/100
Starting the list in the #5 position is the Jones Dream Cathcer.
Whilst not what I would call strictly a freeride board, the Dream Catcher is something that I would call all-mountain bordering on Freeride, but it's certainly the kind of board that you can use for freeriding and scores well enough in the category to make this list.
It's the kind of board that is at home in powder, on the groomers, in the trees but also something that's forgiving enough that you can also take it for the occasional park lap.
This is the cheapest board on this list too, so if you're looking for a good low cost freeride option, and want something that's on the more forgiving side for a freeride board, the Dream Catcher should be on your radar.

WOMEN'S FREERIDE BOARD #4

Board: GNU WHIP
Price: $479
Flex:
Rating: 84.4/100
* HARD/ICY SNOW OPTION
Next we have the GNU Whip. This board is new from GNU for 2020 and features a C3 Camber profiles that will help you rip carves and bomb the mountain.
Not quite as floaty in powder as others on this list, but otherwise, it's a freeride powerhouse, that works epecially well for those that see hard/icy conditions often.

WOMEN'S FREERIDE BOARD #3

Board: Burton Family Tree Story Board
Price: $549
Flex: Medium- Stiff bordering on Medium (6.5/10)
Rating: 84.4/100
The Story Board is a great option for surfing powder, when you get those powder days. But it can also tear up the groomers when there's no fresh pow around.
So if surfing powder is your number 1 concern but you still want to be able to lay down a carve on a groomed run, then the Story Board might be a great option for you.

FREERIDE BOARD #2

Board: Never Summer Lady West
Price: $519
Flex:
Rating: 90.6/100
In at #2, we have Never Summer’s Lady West.
Like it's men's counterpart (the West Bound), the Lady West is new from Never Summer for 2020 and it's a great new addition to their line.
It's a smooth, consistent, yet also hard charging board that carves well, handles the uneven terrain well, can bomb and floats well in powder - everything you want from a good freeride board.

FREERIDE BOARD #1

Board: Jones Women’s Flagship
Price: $649
Flex: Medium Stiff (7/10)
Rating: 90.6/100
And in at #1, we have the Jones Women's Flagship.
The Women's Flagship underwent some fairly significant changes for the 2020 model, making this board less of a straight line bomber, but a much more well rounded, more agile deck, that's just a little more forgiving than it's previous models.
What it lost in flat-out bombing, it gained in uneven terrain, agility (now a much better board in the trees) and for jumps.
But that doesn't mean you can't ride it fast. It's still very very good when opening it out and bombing - just not quite as freakishly bomby as previous models.
Still definitely a board for the steep and deep - but it's evolved into a more modern feeling, more well rounded option.

Buying Past Season Models
Often models don't change that much from year to year so if you can find a past season model, it will likely be close enough to the latest model but you can get it cheaper, if available and in a suitable size for you. For past year's models check out the links below to see if they still have any left.
