The Best Cheap Women’s Freestyle Board
Board: Capita Space Metal Fantasy
Price: $369
SnowboardingProfiles.com Rating Score: 83.5/100
Womens Freestyle Snowboard Stats
Number of freestyle snowboards looked at: | 16 |
Cheapest Board I Looked at: | $299 |
Average price of freestyle snowboards: | $399 |
Average Rating Score: | 81.7/100 |
Why this board was chosen
The Space Metal Fantasy is a good bit above the average score for the 16 Freestyle boards that I rated – and it’s also $30 cheaper than the average. That equals value for money in my books – in fact it scored well enough to make my Top 5 Women’s Freestyle Snowboards list, with the other 4 boards in that list all above the average price.
Another notable contender for this list was the Rossignol Tesla. Whilst the Tesla was slightly below the average score (80.7/100) it is $50 cheaper than the average price and $20 cheaper than the Space Metal Fantasy.
The Best Cheap Women’s All-Mountain-Freestyle Board
Board: Capita Paradise
Price: $399
SnowboardingProfiles.com Rating Score: 83.5/100
Womens All-Mtn-Freestyle Snowboard Stats
No. of freestyle-all-mountain snowboards looked at: | 19 |
Cheapest Board I Looked at: | $349 |
Average price of freestyle-all-mountain snowboards: | $459 |
Average Rating Score: | 81.1/100 |
Why this board was chosen
Another Capita board takes top honors here – and it’s another that made my top 5 for the category, despite it’s modest price.
And again, it’s well above the average score and well below the average price (by $50) for the category.
And of all the all-mountain-freestyle boards I looked at costing less than $400, the average score was 78.7/100 – so it’s way above that. A steal for the price.
The YES Emoticon is a notable second place too – the same price as the Paradise, but not scoring as well – but still 83.1/100, so still above the average score for this category and $50 cheaper than the average price.
The Best Cheap Women’s All-Mountain Board
Board: Rossignol Gala
Price: $299
SnowboardingProfiles.com Rating Score: 76.2/100
Womens All-Mountain Snowboard Stats
No. of all-mountain snowboards looked at: | 15 |
Cheapest Board I Looked at: | $299 |
Average price of all-mountain snowboards: | $429 |
Average Rating Score: | 78.7/100 |
Why this board was chosen
Whilst the Gala does score less than the average score for an all-mountain board, it is also $130 cheaper than the average price – which was too much to ignore, given that it’s close to the average score.
But it is a more beginner level all-mountain board, so if you were looking for something a little more advanced the Salomon Wonder ($30 cheaper than average price with a score of 78.7/100) is a good option.
The Best Cheap Women’s Freeride Board
Board: GNU Klassy
Price: $449
SnowboardingProfiles.com Rating Score: 78.9/100
Women’s Freeride Snowboard Stats
No. of freeride snowboards looked at: | 10 |
Cheapest Board I Looked at: | $399 |
Average price of freeride snowboards: | $530 |
Average Rating Score: | 79.1/100 |
Why this board was chosen
The Klassy is pretty match bang on the average score for this category but it’s $81 cheaper than the average price.
The YES Hel Yes was a close second – it’s $50 more than the Klassy (still $31 cheaper than the average price, but is way above the average score with 91.7/100. In fact it was number 1 in my top 5 women’s freeride snowboards list – which doesn’t take price into account.
The Best Cheap Women’s Beginner Board
Board: Rossignol Myth
Price: $299
SnowboardingProfiles.com Rating Score: 94/100
Women’s Beginner Snowboards Stats
No. of beginner snowboards looked at: | 29 |
Cheapest Board I Looked at: | $299 |
Average price of beginner snowboards: | $400 |
Average Rating Score: | 86.4/100 |
Why this board was chosen
The Rossignol Myth was number 2 in my top 10 women’s beginner snowboards list.
And with a score way above the average and the cost a huge $101 cheaper than the average, the Myth was an easy choice for this category (note that this category is the only category that gives points based on price, so the fact that it’s low cost helped with its score as well).
The Myth is a freestyle oriented board – if you’re a beginner but want an all-mountain oriented board, the Rossignol Gala (also featured in the all-mountain section above) is also $299 and scores 93.5/100.
How the Boards were Chosen
The boards chosen above were not chosen just because they were the cheapest in their category, but because they were the best value for money.
This is a list of cheap snowboards so of course they had to be at a low price but the price-quality ratio was also an important consideration.
Over to You
Thanks for reading and I hope that this page has been helpful to narrow down some options if you are looking for a well-priced snowboard of a reasonable quality.
