Below is a list of what I consider to be the top 3 freeride snowboard bindings for women the 2016-17 season.
The bindings in this are best for anyone who likes to ride the backcountry or the groomers but want the extra response and performance of a stiffer, snappier, more responsive binding.
Not for the beginner or the casual rider but great for more advanced riders who like their riding hard charging.
Of the 8 bindings that I rated:
- The average score was 79.6/100
- The highest score was 91.5/100
- The lowest score was 63.5/100
- The average price was $254
There’s not a lot to choose from in the women’s freeride category, which is why I have only made this a top 3, when ordinarily I would make a top 5.
Women’s Freeride Bindings #3
Bindings: Rome Women’s Katana
Price: $299
Rating score: 80.5/100
Flex: Medium (6 out of 10)
Starting out the list at #3, are the Rome’s Women’s Katanas.
Though I would consider the Women’s Katana to be an all-mountain binding rather than a freeride binding, I included it here as the best freeride-suitable all-mountain binding that I rated.
So, if you like a bit more of a medium flex, even for hard charging riding, then the Katana might be the best option for you.
Either way, they still have great response, have heaps of shock absorption and are really comfortable.

Women’s Freeride Bindings #2
Bindings: Flux GX
Price: $245
Rating score: 91.0/100
Flex: Medium-Stiff
In at #2, we have the Flux GX.
A rarity in the world of women’s bindings the Flux GX is a stiff flexing binding that offers the ultimate in response and locked down boot support.
If you want to crank those bindings down and really charge hard and feel like those bindings are just an extension of your body – then the GX has you covered.
Not for the faint hearted or the beginner rider. If you’re an advanced level rider and you can tame these bindings, then you’ll be rewarded with oodles of performance.

Women’s Freeride Bindings #1
Bindings: Burton Lexa
Price: $279
Rating score: 91.5/100
Flex: Medium-Stiff
And the # bindings in this list are the Burton Lexas!
Super comfort, adjustability and shock absorption are just the start for the Lexa’s.
They are also the most responsive women’s bindings in Burton’s line up and have that great medium-stiff flex for getting everything you possibly can out of them.
Like the GXs, the Lexa’s are a binding for the aggressive, hard charging rider and not for more casual playful riders – though one great thing is that, due to the way the bindings flex with the board, they are actually quite easy to butter (especially the EST versions).
The Lexa’s come in both Re:Flex (to mount on snowboards other than Burton boards with the channel system) and EST (to mount on Burton boards that use the channel system) versions.
