The 10 jackets below are what I consider to be the best insulated snowboard jackets for men for 2018-19.
NOTE: This is a past seasons top 10. For the latest season's Top 10 Insulated Snowboard Jackets list, check out the link below:
>>Top 10 Insulated Snowboard Jackets (Latest Season)
As per Snowboarding Profiles tradition each jacket will receive a score out of 100.
Price hasn’t been taken into account in this list except that all the Jackets are less than 500 dollars.
The level of insulation hasn’t been scored, because everyone likes different levels of warmth – but the level of insulation has been noted for each jacket.
Compared to Other Jackets
Check out the stats below for all of the insulated snowboard jackets that I considered when making this list.
Note that this list is based on specs only and not by personal experience with these jackets. So this is only going by taking the given specs at their face-value. Style, fit durability and weight haven’t been taken into account.
O.k. let’s get going with the top 10!
BEST INSULATED SNOWBOARD JACKET #10
Jacket: 686 Hydrastash Reservoir
Price: $350

Starting off the list in #10, we have 686’s Hydrastash Resevoir Jacket.
The Hydrastash Reservoir offers really decent waterprooding and breathability and mid-level warmth.
But the most unique thing about this jacket is the built in reservoir for holding water. This is a really interesting concept and great for anyone who gets really thirsty on the slopes but doesn’t want to have to carry a backpack or bottle.

Next we have Quiksilver’s Stretch Fjord Jacket.
With ample waterproofing and decent breathability, the Fjord also offers a mid-to light level of insulation to keep you warrm.
It’s constructed with a stretchy fabric that ensures you have a full range of motion. That plus all the other functionality you would want from a snowboard jacket.

BEST INSULATED SNOWBOARD JACKET #8

Insulation: 40g Body | 40g Sleeves

Breathability: 20,000g
Seams: Fully Taped
The Dunmore makes use of Gore-Tex for a waterproof breathable shell – backed by lightweight and a light level of insulation to keep you warm, but not too warm.
The hood leaves a bit to be desired but otherwise a great option for supreme waterproofing and mild insulation.

Insulation: 60g Body

Waterproof Rating: 28,000mm
Breathability: 20,000g

With a more mid-level of insulation, compared to the Dunmore, Burton’s second offering in this list, again makes use of a 2 layer Gore-Tex construction for a high level of waterproofing and breathability.
If you like things just a little warmer and want a more traditional/technical hood, this might be more your thing.

BEST INSULATED SNOWBOARD JACKET #6

It might be the second most expensive jacket on this list, but it’s by no means the most expensive going around (I didn’t consider any jackets over $500 for this list). And you get some great performance off this jacket and a good amount of insulation for those that ride in colder conditions.

The 3rd of 3 Burton jackets in this list is the Radial Gore-Tex Insulated (there is also a shell version). It comes with a really friendly price-tag, considering the features and performance.
