Check out the list below for what I think are the best cheap freestyle snowboards currently on the market.
Previously I created a list of what I thought were the best snowboards going around – 1 for each style (freestyle, all mountain, beginner etc). This post expands on that and gives more freestyle options.
Why These Boards Made the List
The boards chosen aren’t just the 5 cheapest freestyle boards I could find. They had to be of a certain quality. But they did also have to be of a reasonable price to make a cheap boards list.
To give some perspective of where the boards on this list fit in check out the table below.
Number of freestyle snowboards looked at: | 31 |
Cheapest Board I Looked at: | $299 |
Average price of freestyle snowboards: | $442 |
Average Rating Score: | 80.3/100 |
O.k. let’s get into the top 5!
Cheap Freestyle Board #5
Board: Rome Garage Rocker
Price: $299
SnowboardingProfiles.com Rating Score: 78.3/100
Why this board was chosen
It did score a few points below the average score. But it makes up for that in a big way by being a massive $141 cheaper than the average board.
And the average score of the boards that I looked at that cost less than $350 was 75/100 – so it’s above that even though it’s the cheapest of the lot.
This is a great freestyle board for anyone on a really tight budget.
Cheap Freestyle Board #4
Board: Rossignol Retox
Price: $399
SnowboardingProfiles.com Rating Score: 81.7/100
Why this board was chosen
The Retox scored right on the average score for the freestyle decks that I looked at. So with the average price being $440, the retox has the performance of a $440 board but will only cost you $399.
That’s $41 cheaper for the same performance.
Cheap Freestyle Board #3
Board: Slash Happy Place
Price: $399
SnowboardingProfiles.com Rating Score: 87.8/100
Why this board was chosen
Got slightly more to spend but still looking for a great board at a cheaper than average price?
Then the Slash Happy Place should be in your line of sight.
With a score way above the average and a price still $41 cheaper than the average, the Happy Place is value for money personified. It was even good enough to make my top 10 freestyle snowboards list (which doesn’t take cost into consideration).
Cheap Freestyle Board #2
Board: Rome Reverb Rocker
Price: $399
SnowboardingProfiles.com Rating Score: 88.3/100
Why this board was chosen
Like, the Happy Place, the Rome Reverb Rocker also made my top 10 freestyle snowboards list (#5 on that list). It’s also the same price as the Happy Place so a good $41 cheaper than the average.
Being below the average price and a huge 6.6 points above the average score makes Reverb Rocker great value for money.
Cheap Freestyle Board #1
Board: Rome Factory Rocker
Price: $349
SnowboardingProfiles.com Rating Score: 80/100
Why this board was chosen
The #1 cheap freestyle deck and the third Rome board on this list is the Factory Rocker. Rome must be doing something right when it comes to producing good performing freestyle decks for a reasonable price!
The Factory Rocker is just 1.7 points less than the average score but a huge $91 cheaper. Put that extra $91 towards your bindings and you’re getting close to an awesome freestyle setup at a really reasonable price.
You essentially get the same performance that you would from an average freestyle deck but for $91 less.
In my books that screams value-for-money.
