Burton Escapade Step On Review

Burton Step On Escapade ReFlex Snowboard Bindings Review 2025-2026

Last Updated January 26, 2026 by Nate

Hello and welcome to my Burton Escapade Step On bindings review.

In this review I will take a look at the Escapade Step On's as all-mountain-freeride snowboard bindings.

As per tradition here at SnowboardingProfiles.com I will give the Escapade Step On's a score out of 100 (based on several factors) and see how they compare with other women's all-mountain freeride bindings.

NOTE: Since these had to be tested with Step On boots, the ratings scores aren't as accurate as they would be, as Meira didn't have her normal control boots to test with (so any comparisons to her control bindings are tainted because of having to ride these with different boots).

So this review is a rougher indication than the other reviews, because some of what Meira felt could have been influenced by the differences provided by the Step On boots she used to test the bindings.

Overall Rating

Bindings: Burton Escapade Step On Re:Flex

Price: $399 (USD recommended retail)

Style: All-Mountain/Freeride

Flex Rating: Medium (6/10)

Flex Feel: Mid-Stiff (7/10)

Compared to other Women’s All-Mountain Freeride Bindings

Of the 21 current model all-mountain freeride bindings that we tested:

  • The highest score was 91.4/100

  • WordPress Responsive Table

❄️ The Step On Escapade Re:Flex ranked 8th= out of 21*

*Noting again that the ratings scores aren't as accurate as they would be, because step on bindings can't be tested with our control boots.

O.k. let’s take a more detailed look at what the Escapade Step On are capable of.

    Demo Info

Binding: Burton Escapade Step On, M

    Date: March 9, 2023

    Conditions

    Sunny with clouds. Visibility 100%.

Temperature: Around 0°C (32°F) in the morning but more like -6°C (21°F) with wind chill. 15kph (10mph) Easterly winds in morning. 1°C (34°F) in the afternoon, -4°C (25°F) with wind chill. 15kph (10mph) NE winds..

    24 hour snow: 0.4" (1cm)

    48 hour snow: 0.8" (2cm)

    7 day snow: 13" (33cm)

On groomer: Hard packed but not icy. Well groomed for the most part and stayed pretty consistent throughout the day, getting a little cruddy towards the end but nothing too bad.

Off groomer: Not ideal. A little icy/crunchy in most parts. Doable but not super fun.

    Set Up

    Bindings angles: +12/-9

    Stance width: 530mm (20.9″)

    Footbed length: 22.5cm (8.9”)

Footbed Length Fully Extended: 24cm (9.5”)

    Highback Height: 19.3cm (7.6”)

    Weight: 760 grams (1lbs, 11oz)

    * for one binding, including screws and disc. The average weight of a small sample size of women's bindings that we've weighed (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 & 2024 models) is 825 grams (1lb 13oz). The Brass is lighter than average on the scales, which isn't a big surprise, given there are no ankle straps or toe straps. They also felt lighter than normal on snow.
