The following is a quick overview of the 2024 Union snowboard bindings lineup.
First I will take a look at any new bindings for the 2023-24 season, and any 2022-23 bindings that aren't returning with a 2024 model.
Then I'll place each bindings into the categories where I see them fitting best and finally take a look at any changes for returning bindings.
New 2024 Union Bindings
The new bindings for 2023-24 are:
+ Force New - There is a new Force in the lineup but Union didn't drop the old Force. It's now called the "Force Classic". So technically the Force Classic is the new name, but it's the same as the old Force, so it makes more sense to show the new Force in this section. Compared to the old Force (or compared to the Force Classic) everything is different on the new force. Complete redesign, including baseplate, bushings, highback, ankle strap, toe strap and ratchets.
+ Charger FC - New Forged Carbon 9/10 flex version of the Charger (splitboard bindings) - the regular Charger are 7/10 flex. Has different highback ("EXP3 Forged Carbon") in place of the "EXP3 Duraflex ST" that's on the regular Charger. "Forged Carbon" heel cup in place of the "Extruded 3D Aluminum w/ Astro Washer" heel cup on charger and "Exoframe 4.0 Slim" ankle strap instead of the "Exoframe 5.0" that's on the Charger.
+ Charger Pro - An 8/10 flex version of the Charger. Has the "forged carbon" heel cup and the highback is "EXP4 Duraflex ST" - so a different highback to both the Charger and the Charger FC. So basically like the Charger, but with it's own highback and the Forged Carbon Heel Cup that the Charger FC has.

The 2023 bindings that aren't returning with a 2024 model:

Summary
So there you have the 2024 Union snowboard bindings.
Out with the Old and In with the New
All of Union's '23 models are returning with a '24 model, so nothing exiting this year.
3 new bindings come in.
Firstly the Force. Technically the Force Classic is the new name, but the Force (new) is a completely redesigned version of the Force, so it's the new binding technically.
Then there are 2 new splitboard bindings - the Charger FC and the Charger Pro, adding stiffer versions of the Charger, which itself was introduced just last year.
Changes to Existing Models
Ultra & Women's Ultra: Gets "TS 5.0 Ultragrip" toes strap in place of the "TS 4.0 SL" toe strap it had on '23 model.
Strata & Legacy: "Aluminum S2 w/ Steel Base" ratchets replace the "Aluminum" ratchets from the '23 models. Flex rating is also now showing as 5/10, where the '23 models said 6/10. But this is just a rating change thing, because nothing has actually changed with the binding.
Force & Trilogy: Basically everything is different. Complete redesign, including baseplate, bushings, highback, ankle strap, toe strap and ratchets.
Falcor: New toe strap - "TS 4.0+" replaced the "TS 4.0 SL" from the '23 model.
Atlas: "Magnesium S1 w/ Steel Base" ratchets replace the "Magnesium S1 w/ Aluminum Base" ratchets from the '23 model.
Atlas Pro: New toe strap - "TS 4.0+" replaced the "TS 4.0 SL".
Explorer: Now rated a 6/10 flex (was rated 7/10 flex for the '23 model). "Magnesium S1 W/ Aluminum Base" ratchets replacing the "Magnesium 3.0 W/ Aluminum Base" ratchets. "Dino Flad" replacing the "Split Flad 2.0".
Union's line has expanded with 3 new models and nothing retiring. The Splitboard binding category has especially expanded, with 2 new models increasing their splitboard binding line from 2 to 4.

Hi Nate, what would you reccomend for a “Yes Dicey 2020-2021” New Force, Ultra or Strata. I am mainly riding on groomed slopes and my level is beginner-intermediate. I am 5.41 ft and 240 lbs, and I am not sure if mini disc or full disc bindings are more suitable for me.
I will highly appreciate your help.

Hi Adrian
Thanks for your message. Given you’re mostly riding groomers and are in that beginner/intermediate phase, I would be leaning New Force. The full disc provides a smoother, more predictable response, in my experience and if you’re not doing any freestyle stuff, you don’t need the board feel of the mini-disc.
Hope this helps with your decision
