New 2024 Salomon Snowboards

The new boards for 2023-24 are: 

+ Bliss - New women's tapered directional, mid-soft flex, hybrid camber board. Pretty much IDENTICAL TO the SIGHT, EXCEPT FOR SIZING.

+ HPS Takaharu Nakai E.P. - Same as the HPS Takahura Nakai but with a different shape. Slightly narrower than the non-E.P. Takahura Nakai and designed to be ridden 3-5cm longer.

Summary

So there you have the 2024 Salomon snowboards. 

Out with the Old and In with the New

All 2023 models are returning with a '24 model. So no retirees this year. Unsurprisingly that also meant not a lot of new boards, but there were 2. 

Firstly the Bliss - a women's specific version of the Sight for beginners and casual, cruisey all-mountain riders. 

And secondly, the HPS Takaharu Nakai E.P. - a variation on the HPS Takaharu Nakai. 

Changes to Existing Models

Sleepwalker: Gets a sintered base in place of the "extruded EG" base from '23 model.

Abstract: NEW size 162. '24 model doesn't mention the "Castor Bean Topsheet" that he '23 model had - otherwise seems the same.  

Assassin & Assassin Pro: Both get freestyle edge bevel as opposed to all-mountain edge bevel on the '23 models.

Huck Knife & Huck Knife Pro: A few changes here. Dimensions changed (but nothing about the camber profile or materials has changed and still true twin). Same amount of sizes as '23 model but all 1cm longer. Waist width 2mm wider on all sizes except the 149 and 159W which are all 1mm wider. Tip and tail width actually 3mm-6mm narrower, despite the subtly wider waist. Effective edge has increased - e.g. on the 155 (which is now a 156) it's gone from 119cm to 121.6cm - so by 2.6cm even though length only gone up 1cm - so more effective edge per overall length.

No Drama: Dimensions also changed (but nothing about the camber profile or materials has changed and still true twin). Waist width 7mm wider on all sizes except the 149 which is 5mm wider. Tip and tail width actually 1mm narrower on the 139, same on 143. 1mm wider on the 146, 1mm narrower on the 149 and 2mm wider on the 152. So like the Huck Knives, tip/tail widths not in proportion to the waist width increase. The No Drama has a much larger waist width increase. Rffective edge has increased - e.g. on the 146 it's gone from 113cm to 113.8cm. 

Sight: NEW size 155W.

Super 8: "50% Recycled Sintered Base" in place of "sintered" base. "Recycled ABS Sidewalls," in place of "ABS Sidewalls". Doesn't mention "Rocket Science" like it did for the '23 model.

Super 8 Pro: "50% Recycled Sintered Base, Area 51" in place of "Sintered EG, Area 51" base. "Recycled ABS Sidewalls" in place of "Gunslinger Sidewalls".

Dancehaul: NEW Size 154.

Bellevue: 50% Recycled Sintered Base" in place of "sintered" base. "Recycled ABS Sidewalls," in place of "ABS Sidewalls". Says "BA LD fiberglass" in place of "BA MD fiber glass" it had on '23 model. 

Highpath: Gets "Aspen SLCT Core," in place of "Ghost Green Core". Doesn't mention the "Castor Bean Topsheet" which it mentioned on '23 model. Mentions "ABC wrapper" which is didn't mention for '23 model.

Sleepwalker Grom: NEW size 145

Huck Knife Grom: NEW sizes 125, 140 (replacing 139), 140W & 145W

Team: NEW sizes 70 & 80

In addition a number of models got new "Greenpoxy 28 resin". Most boards got new paint jobs but the graphics remained the same on the Sick Stick, HPS Louif Paradis, HPS Wolle Nyvelt Fish, HPS - Annie Boulanger and the HPS Takaharu Nakai.
