2021 Slash Snowboards Overview

Below is a quick overview of the 2021 Slash snowboards lineup.

First I will take a look at any new boards for the 2020-21 season, and any old 2019-20 boards that are exiting.

Then I'll look at each board and put them into the categories where I see them fitting best.

New 2021 Slash Snowboards

The new boards for 2020-21 are:

Slash Straight Split - New splitboard version of the Slash Straight
Slash Brainstorm Split - Though this is really just a name change. It started out as the Brainstorm Linehiker in 2019, then became just the Linehiker in 2020, and now is the Brainstorm Split. The only change, apart from the name, seems to be that it now has a Sintered 9000 base, to replace the Sintered 6000 in the 2020 model (when it was called the Linehiker)

Exiting 2020 Slash Snowboards

The 2020 boards that aren't returning with a 2021 model:

Slash Spectrum - returned for 2020 after a hiatus of a couple of years out, and drops straight back out again.
Slash Aurora - Lasted one more year than the Specturm. Returned in 2019 and remained in 2020, but is gone again for 2021.
Slash Linehiker - though this is still there in reality - has just changed names to the Brainstorm Split
Slash Floater
Slash Portal - was new for 2020, but doesn't seem to be returning with a 2020 model

All 2021 Slash Snowboards by Category

I have categorized Slash's 2020-21 lineup below. This is according to the categories here at SnowboardingProfiles.com and not necessarily the same as how Slash would label them.

Of course these are only broad categories as every board is different, but this is a rough guide.

There isn't a Slash board that strictly fits this category, IMO, though the Brainstorm, or even the Happy Place could be used for this style of riding for sure.

Summary

So there you have the 2021 Slash snowboards.

An already small collection got smaller for the 2020/21 season (from 10 down to 7 options). The Slash lineup seems to go up and down like a yoyo! One year the Spectrum and Aurora are in, for them to disappear the next, then back in again, then disappear again. The Portal that came in last year, seems to have been a one hit wonder.

The Brainstorm Split is a name change for the Linehiker and the Straight Split is the only actual new board. So more going out than coming in for 2021.

The ATV got some size changes - with overall less sizing options for 2021.

I always really enjoy riding Slash boards. They don't do many, but what they have (the one's I've ridden anyway) they do well.
