This over view of the 2017 Salomon snowboards covers Salomon’s lineup of snowboards for the 2016-17 season.
I have grouped each board into the category that I think they fit best in. Some of the boards might fit in more than one category.
Salomon has 15 different men’s boards and 5 women’s boards for their 2017 models plus 4 kids/youth models and 2 split board options.
Salomon’s boards fit across a wide range of categories.

So, there’s Salomon’s 2016-17 line-up of snowboards by category. Hopefully this helps to see where the Salomon boards fit in each of the categories.
Salomon’s boards fit across all of the categories that I categorize snowboards in – so they have a really good range.
If you know your style and the type of snowboard that you’re seeking, check out more options from that category at the link below. The page at the link has a list of my top snowboards for 2016-17 for each category listed above.

Hi Nate,
how do you find Salomon Ultimate ride compared to Slash ATV?
Cheers,
Enzo
Nate says
Hi Enzo
I haven’t ridden the Salomon Ultimate but it’s a slightly different board than the ATV in that it’s a centered twin – whereas the ATV is setback and directional. The Ultimate Ride is what I would categorize an aggressive all-mountain-freestyle and the ATV an aggressive all-mountain. You can check out my lists at the links below.

But yeah, I couldn’t say first hand how they compared but in terms of specs, the Ultimate Ride is more freestyle oriented (but still can put in some aggressive carves) than the ATV.
Hope this helps

Hi Nate,
thank you for your answer. Too many boards on the market and too many decisions to make. Your website and replies are of a great help.
I have one more question. How do you find this Setup: Salomon ultimate ride with Union T-Rice binding.
Thank you.
Cheers,
Enzo
Nate says
Hi Enzo
I think the Ultimate Ride and T Rice would be a good match. The Ultimate Ride, to me, sounds like the kind of board that requires responsive bindings and the Union T Rice fit that bill – and it looks like they would be a good flex match. So yeah, I think they’d go well together.
Definitely a lot of boards to choose from!
